@JudgingOwll @TotallyNOTTrio I am not blaming Asha, but Xbox in general. They have fired soooo many people this last years. Also ID Software has lost like half the team. This keeps happening over and over and there is always some excuse thats the problem.

@JuniorLD6 @TotallyNOTTrio Shes so far stopped 5 companies from being shutdown and even helped them go indie or be under someone else. Its not the optimal everyone is happy ending but no company is gonna stay bloated and lose money for no reason.

New Xbox CEO publicly executes 50% of the worthless staff at Bethesda then strings Todd Howard up by his ankles and gives Fallout to Obsidian but I'm supposed to be mad at her???

@UnboundConman The question is which part has left? Like gaming studios change people all of the time. Saying "barely any of the people" makes it sound like no one important is left when the biggest departure was Avellone 10 years ago. I guess you are right in terms of numbers?

@JuniorLD6 20 of the 70 people who worked on New Vegas are still at Obsidian. That's roughly 30% of the original team. I think that qualifies as "Barely"

Barely anyone who worked on Fallout New Vegas is still at Obsidian, and their recent games have been the middest of the mid. This news means nothing.

@Smttywerben69 @TotallyNOTTrio Then Xbox should have said something sooner IDK, like they get bought they make a mistake then get closed down or fire half the studio? I mean if thats not bad management I dont know what is. I am worried that its just going to keep happening.

@JuniorLD6 @TotallyNOTTrio Yeah Im not arguing either just pointing out that one studios are acquired by Xbox they think they made it. Double fine had a board game area and a yoga studio in their office. They weren't dev games.

@Smttywerben69 @TotallyNOTTrio I said it before that they lack ambition. If the scope of the game is a smaller game with many branches but people expect big game with many mechanics like a Fall or ES, a problem surges. I am agreeing with you partially, just saying people expected something this games arent.

@HausenUSA Literally the director of New Vegas is still in the studio, people just repeat lies for no reason. People have left but a lot of them are still in the studio. Well till we see how many people Xbox has fired.

This doesn't mean anything anymore. Virtually no one who made Fallout New Vegas still works there. It's far more useful to compare it to their more recent work, which are both forgettable and mediocre games.

@Smttywerben69 @TotallyNOTTrio Now in games like KCD 2 I understand why as they are much bigger in scope, this games suffer from being compared to Elder scrolls and Fallout(partially Obsidians fault) when they never were close to that. They are good rpgs, nothing else.

@JuniorLD6 @TotallyNOTTrio The dead worlds are a huge problem especially taking on a environmental story telling ip like fallout. To be fair fallout world is supposed to be mostly dead so it might work

@Smttywerben69 @TotallyNOTTrio Is like I said, lack of ambition so the npcs are stationary, I dont see it as such a problem because of the scale of the games I dont need npcs with routines especially how much this could consume in terms of resources.

@TotallyNOTTrio So they make the revival of the most iconic saga of FPS in history. They make two great games and get awarded for it. Dark ages is bad (83/79 in Metacritic but ok) so they fire half the studio? Stop making excuses for Xbox.

@Smttywerben69 @TotallyNOTTrio I do agree Avowed wasnt their best, but they dont make bad games. Like being objective the only real problem of their games is lack of ambition, as the choice and consequence is there, the combat is better than any Bethesda game and also the writting. 🤷

@ranger_houston Obsidian hasnt made a bad game in ages. I would say that their best game was Pillars of eternity 2. Now if you dont like them is other thing but their games always have great decisions and consequences, maybe they lack ambition but they are good all around.

Based on recent Obsidian games, I’m not sure this is a good thing…

@TotallyNOTTrio Then thats why they have fired people in ID software too? And any studio under them? This is not about quality, its about making cuts because they have to make a bigger profit.

Xbox's Obsidian Entertainment studio has canceled work on the next Avowed game as part of restructuring and is now starting to work on a new Fallout game [via Bloomberg]

@Magus_Max1 No he jugado el Outer Worlds 2 pero si el primero y el Avowed, son buenos juegos con muy buenas decisiones y consecuencias, pero les falta ambición. Obsidian no ha hecho un juego malo desde hace mucho tiempo, ahora que no sea tan bueno como su Magnum opus es otra cosa.

En 2021, esta noticia hubiese hecho que gritara tanto de la emoción a tal grado de que mis vecinos reclamaran. Ahora tengo miedo porque la Obsidian de New Vergas no es la misma que ahora, y Avowed es evidencia de ello.
