If I ran an F1 team my number 2 driver would be a goon enforcer. A rolling road block with chariot spikes who is 100% dedicated to supporting the main driver. Wild specialist setups and strategies that are fully annoying to rivals. Things like lower fuel. no need to finish race. riskier engine modes. strategies that are only useful for blocking or destabilising rivals. Could run specialist set ups for specific roles required on the day. run full qualifying weighted set ups to control things from the front. maximise straight line speed when it's hard to overtake. so many options are possible if that driver understands their role. Salary would be 20 million and they would be a hero in the team. You'd have your pick of talented aggressive drivers that weren't going to make F1 otherwise. they'd be a warrior knight on a stead of rubber

Someone with better Chelsea data than my own got in touch today to inform me that my earlier estimate of Chelsea’s financial chasm was wrong. I had undercooked it. With their help, we determined it to be €275-350m (post Cucu sale). This must be generated from player sale profits and cost-shedding before July 2027. Realistically, they aren’t avoiding a breach. That means no European football in 2027/28 either. Their brand value is in the bin, they’re haemorrhaging cash, their squad’s market value is less than its net book value, many toxic assets are on 6-7 year contracts, they’ve stripped the club of its infra assets and its ground has dumpy Travelodge energy. Spurs have way better medium-term prospects than Chelsea. Turns out, the PL didn’t need to sanction Chelsea for its historic cheating. Blueco ownership is punishment enough. That club is finished.

Top clubs want Cobham talent, but we as a club continue to block their path. All these players have been signed in four years, and most of them the fanbase want them sold this summer or have already been sold. Shiny new toys aren’t always the answer.

@CarefreeYouth The transfer ban should’ve been the best thing that ever happened to us. The amount of talent we were able to platform to show that we didn’t need to go out and buy back up for tens of millions and it all got ditched at the first opportunity.

The list of players we need to sell after only a few summer windows ago having a “clear out” I don't want to see us linked to a 3rd choice player that we need to develop. We have top talents in the academy that can fill that spot. Save the money to take us to the next level.
