All In for DC: A Tax System for Justice is a campaign under Just Recovery DC aimed at raising revenue the District can invest in racial equity.

Our Chair, Morris Pearl, put it best⬇️ “People don’t move out of NYC because taxes are too high. They move because they can’t afford the rent.” The real threat to NYC isn’t millionaires fleeing tax hikes. It's the crushing cost of living that pushes working families out.

In addition to a vote on an emergency bill to reject federal tax cuts that would cost DC $658 million in local funds, DC Council is voting on @CMZParker5's amendment to use funds to restore a DC Child Tax Credit.

How will your taxes change next year now that the megabill has been signed into law? People making less than $53,000 could see their taxes increase. The richest 1% alone will benefit more from Trump’s tax plan than the bottom 80% of Americans. itep.org/how-will-trump…

Well that’s not ideal

Listening to DC Council budget debates now is incredibly sad. So many false choices because of an austerity mindset. Working class Washingtonians deserve better. We can + must start filling the gaps to fight for working people, as @JustRecoveryDC and @FairBudgetDC have outlined

The centerpiece of Trump's megabill is a trillion-dollar tax cut to the wealthy, paid for by increasing the national debt and cutting public services.

Tax flight is a myth, and Massachusetts adds even more evidence to the large body of research showing that. loom.ly/G5HytG4
