@htomufc Doue right, mbappe left, olise 10, Dembele 9 is the best for them. Kounde is so poor in possession its madness he starts for both Barca & France
English

France look a mess here, virtually no central progression, Dembele’s role is brain numbing, Olise’s coming to feet every time to get it off the CBs, KOUNDE is playing as their MAIN outlet, virtually no combinations between Theo-Doue. Senegal have transitions down the sides too, lucky not to be 1-0 down here France.
English

@htomufc He was more of a passer & controller when he was at Milan and when he came through at Brescia and for Italy u21s, he was more of a Pirlo type. Hes developed into more box to box at Newcastle but he 100% has it in his locker to play deeper and has the passing range
English

do they not need a pure passer more?

@Brenault98 @RTEsport He didn't play. He was part of the training squad and went for the experience. Not that hard to understand. Whether he warmed up and was on the bench or not he was never going to play.
English

@Just_JK86 @RTEsport Just trust the official team sheet that listed him as on the squad, and your eyes that saw him warming up and kitted out

Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley has described 16-year-old Josh O'Dwyer's recent call-up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad as "nonsense", and warned there's a risk around young footballers when "you're pushed before you've earned it".

@Brenault98 @RTEsport OK Andy we'll trust you over the football association of the country's statement
English

@Just_JK86 @RTEsport He was called up the the squad and was on the bench sin é
English

@Brenault98 @RTEsport The FAI website states he was invited in as a training player...literally...he may have been on the bench but was never going to play any part

@McDonnellDan Graham was my wife's first cousin on his das side. He passed away the year i met her unfortunately. Everyone always speaks so highly of him and how good of a player he was, it's nice to hear he is still thought of by lads when that age group is spoken about

Dublin schoolboy football's class of 1992 was special
But only one will play at a World Cup

@htomufc @Xabiholic Cunha needs to come on and could do with Edersons legs in midfield. Paqueta has been terrible

Watching back videos of Maradona at the 86 world cup. The absolute highest level any player has reached. Messi is the best I've seen but I think Maradona could do everything Messi did, but Maradona could do things Messi can't do. It was like he had the ball on a string at times

Cantona, Baggio & Romario, the first 3 players i watched and fell in love with as a kid. What a player Romario was, full of magic. An out and out goalscorer

@MiguelDelaney Poor take. Topped their group in qualifiers and very strong defence and midfield with plenty of quality in attacking areas. Some quality young players too in Paz and Barco. The heat will favour them aswell. Austria & Algeria both qualified from really poor groups
English

The World Cup expansion is going to affect it
I would have Argentina as prime candidates for a first-round exit but the third-place system - and more forgiving opposition in about five groups - allows a lot of safety nets and one win to get through

@JerryDraper15 @demetrimitche11 Was a toss up between him and Ballack for me for the 3rd spot. I seen more of Ballack so probably recency bias

@Just_JK86 @demetrimitche11 Laudrop has to be in contention also!

@MutedIrish @MarkusTactiek Think Ajax might be a better judge of technical ability. Kid is 17 and going into their 2nd team in the 2nd division so plenty of time to develop
English

@MarkusTactiek @Just_JK86 Not technically good enough from what I’ve seen.
English

Very strong team particularly in midfield. Devaney, Finneran and Mullins are all very good technically. Exactly what we need coming into the senior team long term. Finneran and Devaney only 18 aswell. They would be an unbelievable pairing long term
