It genuinely breaks my brain to imagine what 1400 hours of annual sunshine must be like to live in.
When going to college in Chicago, I really struggled with the seemingly endless gray of the winters. Chicago gets 2500 sunshine hours!

Summer in Scotland is surprisingly balmy, makes up for Jan & Feb, the worst months
At the height of summer, for a couple of weeks it doesn’t really get properly dark, sun only really sets around 11:30pm
Have been to many music festivals here and it only really starts getting dark around the close of the headline act

@Howlingmutant0 Well, it isn't really about the difference in religion in Ireland. It's about what the difference represents - Catholic: ethnic Irish, republican, anti-British rule, etc./Prot: ethnic British, pro-British Rule, toasters in the cupboard, etc.
