@sankuthegr8 @theonotbaked @virajraundal8 Agree numbers were bad but Mah does have extreme dense colonies, so spread was expected. Dharavi was managed well tho, got praise by WHO. I can talk for Mumbai or at least areas I saw. It was well done and he was a reassuring voice every evening.

Long winded and very cynical, but here goes: People who buy Apple phones arrange their entire personality around being an Apple person and having the latest model. In the current year, even though there are no significant upgrades in the Apple 17 series, the cosmic orange colour has become insanely popular. This may be selection bias, but the number of people who are using an orange iPhone with a transparent case is enormous. In previous years, due to no discernible colour difference, and carrying the same shape, only the most eagle eyed folks could know which iPhone people were carrying. But, the social pressure in India about carrying the latest iPhone is so high, people use to stick on fake camera housing units on the back of their iPhone (to 'show' they had a newer model). Now, with the orange iPhone, its owners have painted a target on their back. If Apple launches a blockbuster colour next year as well, I think all these orange junkies will go jumping to buy the next series, in much larger numbers than Apple is usually able to get to refresh within a year. While there can be many who stick a new skin (of the new colour) on the 17 series, I feel 18 will do very well for this reason. Thank you coming to my TED talk.

Just hours after the inauguration of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway's Missing Link on Maharashtra Day, violations were already being reported, with heavy vehicles spotted on the stretch despite a clear ban. As per the official notification, only light motor vehicles, buses, and passenger vehicles are permitted on the route for the first six months until October 31, 2026. The 10.5 km stretch, built at an estimated cost of ₹6,700 crore, also prohibits vehicles carrying flammable, explosive, or hazardous materials following a propylene gas tanker accident near the Adoshi tunnel two months ago.
