A foggy HM distance this morning. I'm sure there would have been lots of interesting things to see but for the fog. I did hear 2 woodpeckers though, yay! (I suppose it could've been 1 very cunning 1 who flew ahead of me to drum again. 🤔) My longest run since the end of January.

Keep music live. Local venues. Local bands. Local beer.

100 Mile Race Complete. Wish I had better news about my performance. Sadly, anything that could have gone wrong did. The temps wiped me out, and I never recovered from it. I found myself unable to pee for about 8 hours and had to walk the last 25 miles. I’ll be out for a while.😮‍💨

Been a bit of an odd week training wise but nice to get out for a 10K after work and be done before the sun goes down. Hard work but the only mile over 9 minutes involved a 180° turn and the biggest incline of the whole run.

Check out my awesome MFH🥰 He’s sitting up!!! Update: His strength is back! His speech is still a challenge for him and his words come out wrong side out. He’s very frustrated with this. Doc doesn’t know if this will improve? MFH was concerned if he could read. Hadn’t thought about this!!! Got a couple large print books (his glasses are at home) and he CAN read☺️ He reads silently because verbalizing the words is exhausting. He also has a word search puzzle book but all the letters…he was, nope! Now the neurological stuff: The clot is still there. No, they can’t do anything else about it. Yes, this can happen again but they’re hoping it won’t! They think the clot came from his heart from some Afib. Not. Cool. So, good news and some less than ideal news but overall, good news ☺️ I think we’re moving out of ICU soon if my eavesdropping from the nurses station serves me right! 🎉

@Just_a_driver Thanks Steve! Definitely is mate, easy on the stomach and don’t take up much room. Partial to a bit of flapjack on occasion too!

Back to work Thursday night so had to get the long run in yesterday. May not have had the elevation but those canal paths were definitely boggy! All good prep for the 50k. White socks were not the best choice, Soreen is the GOAT fuel though.

#PinkWednesday hospital update: MFH has seen OT and PT and every doctor on the planet today. He’s had an echo and a few other tests are still pending. Hell be in ICU another day and everything else will be determined later. He did well with the various therapies 😃 He tires easily and when he’s tired he has a challenging time talking, searching for words and they come out all funny. Neurologist says he has a little facial dropping but I don’t see it🤷‍♀️ All in all he’s doing amazingly well and we’re feeling very blessed 🩷
