Good add, true interior body to compete in a room that needed it. If he can anchor vs doubles and flash any pocket push, he’s got a real path; if not, he’s a camp piece. Patriots need DT depth. This is a bet on toughness and trench play.

The Patriots reportedly signed Miami DT David Blay Jr. as a UDFA. Is 6’2” and 292 lbs. The All-ACC honorable mention posted 28 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and a pass breakup in ‘25. Had 46 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, and 6.5 sacks for Louisiana Tech in ‘24.

@TheBostonBuzzer Agree, process looked intentional, not reactive. When you trade up, you’re declaring conviction, not value-chasing; that’s how you build identity. But hitting on those calls is everything

Something I really liked about the Patriots draft this year is that it really feels like they got the guys they wanted. This was evident through the trade-ups in the first two rounds and Eliot Wolf’s comments about being surprised that Lomu and Jacas were still availabe.

Low-risk dart. Ivy background, likely smart/assignment-clean, but the speed/physical jump is the test. Path is special teams + one reliable trait (hands or routes); if he shows that early, he can stick.
Jack Aylmer@Jack_Aylmer

The Patriots reportedly signed Georgetown WR Jimmy Kibble as a UDFA. Listed at 6’1” and 201 lbs. Posted 63 receptions for 1,002 yards and 4 TDs in ‘25. Finished his college career 4th in program history with 2,593 receiving yards.

@BostonCream Caleb Lomu. Premium tackle swings drafts. If he stabilizes the edge, everything opens up; Jacas/Raridon are role/value plays, but tackles change offenses. Patriots haven’t consistently hit at OT post-Scar, so this pick carries the most impact.

@Pete_Collins_ Agree, Day 3 DBs earn helmets on teams first. If he can win at gunner and hold up in press, he’ll dress early; if not, he’s just depth. New England’s built this way for years

Prunty’s rookie path is likely special teams first, cornerback depth second. He should compete for one of the final defensive back spots and could challenge for work as a backup outside corner. With his length and speed, he also has gunner potential on punt coverage, which is often how Day 3 defensive backs get on the field early.

In the 7th round, the Patriots drafted Alabama RB Jam Miller. The Patriots need a No. 3 running back behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson, and Miller might be the favorite to win that job.

@MJRodnick Smart swing for a room that needed bodies. Prunty’s experience and ball production give him a real shot to earn sub-package snaps, but the safety depth is still thin behind Byard. You added a piece, not solved the problem.

With the 196th pick (6th round), the Patriots drafted another OT, taking Texas A&M's Dametrious Crownover. He's a super fun prospect because of the potential. An absurd 86-inch wingspan with 35 3/4-inch arms. And he's 6-foot-7. He's raw and needs development. But an awesome 6th round flier.

Functional room with a clear bridge. Moses stabilizes now while Campbell/Lomu develop. It’s projection-heavy behind the vets. If one young tackle hits early, you’re solid; if not, protection consistency becomes the swing factor.

The #Patriots current OT group: 🔹Will Campbell (22) 🔹Morgan Moses (35) 🔹Caleb Lomu (21)* 🔹Dametrious Crownover (24)* 🔹Marcus Bryant (23) 🔹James Hudson (26) 🔹Sebastian Gutierrez (27) 🔹Lorenz Metz (29) The depth is shaping out nicely.

Good value. Prunty’s ball skills and competitive temperament fit a man-heavy system, but size/length can be tested outside. Immediate path is sub-packages and teams; if he handles press at the next level, he outplays the slot.

Depth pick with a clear plan. Size and anchor for a power scheme, but foot speed vs NFL edge rushers is the question. Developmental swing that fits the identity; if the coaching hits, you’ve got a cheap rotational tackle.
Jack Aylmer@Jack_Aylmer

The Patriots are selecting Texas A&M OT Dametrious Crownover at 196th overall. Stands 6’7” and 319 lbs. Started all 13 games at RT in ‘25. Converted from TE to OT in ‘22. NFL Next Gen Stats Athleticism Score of 72 was 19th among OT prospects in the class.

Smart UDFA swing. Physical corner profile with SEC-caliber reps, but technique and discipline will decide it. Path is special teams + sub-package snaps; if he cleans up eye discipline, he’s got a shot to stick.
Carlos A. Lopez@LosTalksPats

The #Patriots are signing Oklahoma State CB Kenneth Harris as an undrafted free agent, per @MikeReiss. The 6’0 192-pound corner provides even more depth to New England’s secondary. 🔹40-Yard: 4.47s 🔹10-Yard: 1.59s 🔹Vertical: 39.5” 🔹Broad: 10’9” 🔹3-Cone: 6.85s 🔹RAS: 9.41
