The duty cycle of a battery in a Tesla Semi versus a commuter EV like a Model 3 are completely different. For example, a long-haul truck is designed to run from ~100% to near empty, whereas a commuter car is usually topped up in short, frequent charges and rarely sees a full discharge. This changes how you must think about overall battery design, degradation, and cost. Excited to see more Tesla Semi’s on the road!

That’s a lot of emissions.. wonder if Tesla will ever start working on electrified flight. Next-gen battery development for that would be real fun

Switched to morning workouts recently because I have been too exhausted to go after work. Totally forgot how good it feels. My energy levels have noticeably increased throughout the entire day. Only con so far is that I need to sleep before 11PM 😂

In industry, it has been interesting to see how small process deviations can result in massive cost implications on the project. For example, things like raw material cost, drying time, amount of solvent used, etc… all need to be considered in terms of cost when trying to optimize a process. This makes research quite difficult 😅

Hey @bryan_johnson, what’s the verdict on using Lysol wipes to clean surfaces?!

First week-ish has been a roller coaster of learning. Feels like I have already been here a month or two. Started with a new notebook and it’s already 1/3 full 😅

Still getting used to the fast pace of industry. The availability of resources and equipment here has been incredibly satisfying… That being said, I think there is value in working on projects with limited resources, as it can build your creativity and resilience.

My advisor often lets us sit in on PhD/Postdoc interviews. Many candidates have superb backgrounds, so differentiating yourself matters. My #1 advice: be energetic. How can you expect to excite an audience if you’re not excited yourself?
