These drone photos I took a few years ago show what the area used to look like downstream from this reservoir that supplies water to Asheville. It’s a much different scene than what it looks like now in the @chefjoseandres video below in this thread.

Here’s some of what we learned from Buncombe County’s 10 news conference on #Helene recovery:

POWER. Just now above Ingles on Hwy 9 in Black Mountain! Note, this is the main road through town, side roads still have nothing. Gas pumps are working, but it’s a trickle.
