You asked the computer what the Nobel prize winners theory is and how it applies. You just don’t like the answer.

The rational person in me says EV tax credits are a terrible idea, and we shouldn’t use tax money to pay rich people to buy luxury cars and toys…But the part of me that almost bought an EV today is really mad they got rid of it for motorcycles in the most recent spending bill…

If you couldn't (at the time) layback to tape w/o losing sync 90% of the time, despite everything that might be been *ok* about it, it just wasn't meant for pro environments

Final Cut Pro 8 would have been part of the current NLE cul-de-sac that includes Media Composer, Premiere and Resolve.

@dickij10 @PreOwnedLib @editblog but that's the whole problem with prpro and resolve (which dont get me wrong, I love resolve). But if you have to drop the source into a timeline, you can never match back. Avid's Source Timeline, and he's right, the timewarp editor, are legit so so huge.

@PreOwnedLib @editblog You can edit from a sequence (timeline) in Resolve. The source viewer doesn't tell you much but you can drop a timeline in there and arrow up/down through the edits. Also toggle source /record helps. Not great but it's there.

Back cutting in @MediaComposer this week for the first time in awhile. Nice to be home. There’s still an interesting ‘fluidity’ to Avid for basic cutting that other NLEs still haven’t matched. Hard to pinpoint. Kind of a feel thing. If you know you know.

@joeydanna We talk about this constantly, figuring what to do for the future. Without TEAM, the years of learning from you and everyone we were so fortunate to be surrounded by... w/o being an e2 observing how editors talked with producers... studying timelines, I reckon I'd be quite lost.

Gotta say this is a really really good point. I’m absolutely working from home for my own selfish reasons - when I was under 30 I was at an active, creative facility and would never have gotten my career anywhere near where it is without that mentorship and learning.
