Izilali zehlukene bafo, and for scrolling social media that mostly works ezilalini ezininsi, but we must look beyond that. Most people don't work in rural areas and there are plenty of job opportunities online which you cannot do with the 3/4G coverage, you need high speed internet.
Most South Africans will not use Starlink even if it’s approved. They don’t need it because the majority are in townships, suburbs, and cities. Their rejection of it comes from a standpoint of privilege, because they don’t really need it. United front in this case is not at our best interest.
Having Starlink will have more advantages than disadvantages.

Under Apartheid: The government only provided "best in the world" services to about 10% of the population (the white minority). They didn't borrow to build schools or clinics for everyone else.
Post-1994: The democratic government had to borrow to provide electricity, water, housing, and healthcare to 100% of the population for the first time in history. Expanding infrastructure from a small minority to 60 million people costs a massive amount of capital.
We are paying for the crimes of the past created by whites (the inherited interest) and the needs of the present (expanding services) at the same time. The "Apartheid Debt" acted as the heavy anchor that made it impossible for the ship to move fast when the storms of corruption and global recession hit.

@FreddieOos2285 @ErnstRoets I think the ANC has actually done a decent job (not good), they just have bad PR. Also 3 decades will never be enough my friend, it will take approximately +10 decades and even more if we still have people like Ernst who pretend as if they don’t know why those laws were passed.
English

The REASON we are in our current predicament regarding black poverty is BECAUSE of Apartheid. I am prepared to say that one cannot ONLY blame Apartheid. (The ANC has been in government for 3 decades which are going to turn into half a century very soon).
I am also prepared to say you do not need to blame anything or anyone just deal with the issue at hand as it generates crime and political instability which impacts EVERYONE.
In otherwords you can blame piranhas or pink elephants it doesnt matter the issues are still the issues having an impact on everyone.
Trying to equate the laws of Apartheid to the current affirmatice action laws are just silly. I am not being opressed or discriminated against. I have said this before if you disagree with the current BEE system (like I do and many others) then suggest something to replace them.
Afrikaners were VERY reliant on the state to help uplift them out of poverty.

Starlink has committed to a R500 million investment to connect 5,000 rural schools with free, high-speed internet, benefiting more than 2.4 million learners each year.
But it is still on hold.
Why? Because South African regulations require 30% local Black ownership for telecom licenses.
South African farmers and rural communities are asking the government to approve Starlink. In many remote areas, there is no internet access at all, and people have to drive several kilometers just to get basic connectivity.
The South African government is the enemy of its own people.
