@rachbarnhart The videos inflame? Nope. They only serve to remind the wife and myself that our decision to stay out of the city and Charlotte (where I lived the first 12 years of my life) is the right one. Saddens me that we do not feel safe down there anymore.

Good statement - I’d add one thing: the behavior is completely unacceptable, but the widespread sharing of videos of teenagers fighting is gratuitous and designed to inflame. We can demand better behavior in our public spaces and stop amplifying these videos - many of underage kids - for outrage.

Dozens of Rochester Police Officers responded to Ontario Beach Park Monday evening to break-up a number of fights that started within a crowd of 400 to 500 people. No arrests were made. No injuries were reported to officers on scene. @news10nbc

It's a failure of journalism not to acknowledge the fights involving teens Sunday at the Lilac Festival and Charlotte Beach, and Saturday night on Monroe Avenue. When the street journalist covers things the mainstream doesn't, the mainstream stops being credible.
