I know its a bummer for people not to see their favorite game or characters adapted properly, but I think this is a much better route. It allows way more freedom. The GAMES often introduce new protagonists and tell new stories. I see this movie as an extension of that.

Hearing that post Daredevil Born Again season 3, Charlie could be getting his own Solo film, which would conclude the storyline built across the first 3 BA seasons. Spider-Man could make an appearance due to it being a film project.
