I learned something today. Of all my birthdays, my 10th birthday in 1980, is the one I remember in detail. It was the day I got braces in Bellville, Cape Town. I was upset. My mouth hurt, and my birthday party was painful. It was also the day my future house was built, and the keys were handed to the owners. The house in the Rocky mountains where I would become the second owner, 44 years later in 2024. Across oceans. In a whole different continent, and a whole new world. The owners who built this house, and lived here for 44 years, have the same first names as my parents. Miss Sandy told me the day we closed on this house that you don't choose your home, home chooses you. ❤️
