@eryn1x @speckvoices I mean, I can recognize that this song is mixed and mastered very well by people who know what they are doing. But this song didn’t like change the industry it anything. It’s okay, and for me personally not even close to what I like in a song. People have preferences man.

The amount of artists I’ve met who are struggling to eat because of the way the industry is structured is crazy. I know there are many factors to that but the industry itself does a lot to push the proven formula.

It’s not Billies fault, nor do I blame her or any pop stars for it. It’s the industry and the people who control record labels. It’s money.

@AlbusFerros @eryn1x @speckvoices As a rock and metal fan (and many more genres) I couldn’t care less about her success or “rockstar”dom. I’m sure she enjoys it. Who cares? It doesn’t mean I can’t think pop as a whole has done more harm than good. And it doesn’t mean I can’t dislike her music subjectively.

@Jutsuai @eryn1x @speckvoices Billie Eilish and her music at the time (along with other artists) was what made record companies prioritize it. Yeah, obviously they were using it, but they weren't caring about it until they saw that putting young talent online made them more money than ever before.

In my opinion, it’s completely squashed all the genres of music that deserve far more spotlight than pop. But again, that’s my opinion and those are my preferences. And I won’t bend on em.

@Jutsuai @eryn1x @speckvoices This song changed how music is monetized. This song along with other songs in 2019 were what made the music industry make the hard pivot from traditional radio to internet monetization, and I say other songs but Billie was the biggest one that did it.

@eternallyylazy @eryn1x @speckvoices All it really did was show that pop music could be made in a bedroom instead of a multi million dollar studio. It was minimalist which is unique? I guess?? Nothing this song did changed how producers all over the music sphere did things. Lots of genres already figured this out.
