Soccer players are WAY more athletic than basketball players.
NBA players average 6’8”. These people can’t run for 90 minutes, stop, start, etc.
You think they are athletic because they are playing against each other in a sport that specializes for height.
In reality, they are slow and uncoordinated.
6-8% of the NBA is 7ft tall. There are only 2k-3k people in the world that tall.

In football, athleticism is not the main thing. It's a means to an end. If you don't have the talent, you can be the best athlete in the world, you won't do shit in a football field.

What is with so many soccer people on this app, especially Europeans or American Eurosnobs, with downplaying the athleticism required to play soccer at a high level? It's so bad that it's actually one of the most popular talking points to say Lionel Messi is a bad athlete.

The most telling thing about this is how the Americans don’t see it.
If you ever needed proof that they are inappropriate owners/investors/lenders to football, this is it.

This has never happened in a World Cup before. It feels really dirty. Especially considering the relationship between the head of FIFA and the President of the USA. Takes credibility away from the competition. As well as the US teams’ path. They have been great. This isn’t.

Soccer has to adapt and change some rules. The offsides calls are worse than the two line pass rule in hockey that was changed. It’s stupid and it makes the game less exciting. All sports change their rules to make the game better, except this one.
