This is absolutely the best news ever and I'm super excited for you!! Congratulations

I'm so stoked about this. Dave has been my (unofficial) mentor for the past 6 years and I can't believe I will get to work with him daily going forward. It's going to be a huge year!

265% version of the @stlflix Fairy Dragon!!
Absolutely loving the @Creality3dP K2 Plus machine!!! I see more of these in my future

English

@elianarose66 Those are super cool i mean i could make a project for them
English

@aupairadox I'm willing to try almost anything
English

@tmophoto @studio_rollins Yeah that all break faster than original and they need thousands and without the 4-6 weeks lead time of ordering them from overseas...
English

@K2thestank @studio_rollins What were you printing it with? Have you tried nylon?
English

@studio_rollins @tmophoto We've tried all that belt moves extremely fast anything printed has worn out in 2-3 days and the original are from injection
English

For this project, I don’t think injection molding is the answer. Developing the mold for this item will be hard because of the holes. There are a few tricks to keep it 3D printed. You can make the part chunkier, make the walls thicker, or change the orientation of the print so the layer lines are aligned with the angle of stress.
English

@tmophoto They are just little 2" long x 3/4" conveyor belt tracks, i started working on a basic mold and if the the project works I'll progress more i found a $350 diy kit that might work out

English

Start with the weight of the item and add gates and runners then figure out a machine and hydraulic cylinder needed to fill that much weight of plastic in the mold in one shot. There are lots of diy and small garage shop sized machines but it entirely depends on the size of the item
You can prototype molds with 3d prints but they don’t last long

That's cool and is exactly the kind of verifiable output $MINT is built for. Simple OctoPrint or slicer wrappers could let your printers earn fixed-rate tokens from job runtime/completion without extra platforms.
If you're open to experimenting, first 5-10 operators get 5k $MINT bounty for integration proof.

No pressure, just thought it might fit your workflow.
Cheers

@Foundry25 @joeltelling I do a bit of everything, but i try to design and sell models or working in collaboration environments to generate a positive income
English

Kristyn, the shift from mining to 3D printing as value creation is a smart pivot as printers have verifiable output that's easier to reward directly than hash power. Simple wrappers on OctoPrint could let them earn for print jobs autonomously. If you're modding printers, open to chatting how that might plug into a neutral monetary layer?
