Wes Streeting does not want a fully funded NHS. He has received large sums of money from private healthcare lobbyists, and in return he is outsourcing NHS services to the private sector
Sir Lindsay Hoyle billed taxpayers £40,000 for two foreign jaunts to Canada and South Africa last year. Canada trip to Ottawa: £25,000 (£22,795 on flights alone, £1,803 on meals and hotels, £327 transport). South Africa trip to Cape Town: £14,999 (£13,230 flights, £1,043 hotels, £169 meals). Part of £370,000 racked up on 30 overseas trips since becoming Commons Speaker. TaxPayers’ Alliance: “Taxpayers are sick of seeing their hard-earned cash treated as a travel fund.” Long-haul Hoyle strikes again. Are you happy with how he has used tax payers money to fund these trips or do you think he has a right to do so as Speaker of the house?
A very important intervention from Lord Peter Hain. This unpopular government has launched a sustained attack on dissent. The new clause about 'cumulative disruption' in the updated Crime and Policing Bill will amount to an unparalleled assault on protest rights. Any broadcaster airing Wes Streeting on the future funding of the NHS should, for transparency, also show the people and companies linked to private health who are paying him to say it.
We’re told we can’t afford doctors. But we can afford £1.6 BILLION in profits for private companies. These are deliberate choices to move NHS money into private hands, not frontline care. The government's privatisation of the NHS isn't so secret anymore.
