Channel 4's docudrama 'Dirty Business' has exposed the scandal that is privatised water. Right now, politicians and water companies will be extremely worried about water privatisation being exposed exactly for what it is: a failed experiment which continues to benefit faraway shareholders while ripping off billpayers; destroying our natural environment and putting us in danger. Thames Water's creditors have cobbled together a new rescue proposal which contains a bribe, a 'Get out of jail' card against further illegal pollution, and a veiled threat: "Under the Proposal, all outstanding fines would be paid...as a result, the Company would not be subject to the outcome delivery incentives regime during AMP8 [2025-2030].
