@k7_nnt Yeah, had some luck with it. I've seen 150+ nodes total so far. I was 5 miles from the house in this image and was barely able to hear my house. Otherwise nothing is around me for around 15 miles. Rural area. Most of what I have seen has been while I was mobile or airplane relay.
@Kd9Njj There is a Discord group for Wisconsin Meshtastic linked at meshconsin.org . We have a Mesh Day event going on today from 1pm to 2pm. Getting who we can on towers, hills, any high point and seeing what we can all link together.
Started the routine of having a #Meshtastic node on me as often as possible. Never before seen a node in the town I work from. Until now! In order for a mesh to grow you need to be out there for people to see.
This evening's (Thursday March 6) livestream is going to be cancelled. I contracted Influenza-A this week and am still fighting the effects. Most notably my voice is gone. I'll make an announcement if I decide to reschedule, otherwise see you all in April.
Already seeing sub-zero wind chills across northern WI this afternoon. As the sun goes down wind chills will become dangerously cold tonight ranging form -15 to -30 degrees across the region. Stay warm all! #wiwx
As the consummate professional, every video is perfect on the first try.
Who am I kidding. They are full of bloopers and alternate takes. Here's some of the best from 2024: youtu.be/v-AIKvQSZ_U
@KC7JPC Nope, I wasn't there today. I haven't been on an ice road in 20 years now. And I don't see it happening again in the future. I'll wait for the car boat in summer. If that goes down, at least the water is a few degrees warmer.
WisDOT today announced new winter road condition categories on 511wi.gov to better reflect current conditions on roads across the state. The categories are now: Normal, Partially Covered, Completely Covered, Travel Not Advised, and No Report. wisconsindot.gov/Pages/about-wi…
@SignalSteveo I would think almost 75% of the parks in Wisconsin are the State Wildlife Areas. I like them as they are generally just nature parks. Wild and not manicured like proper State Parks. To me it is a more relaxing place to be.
@K9ZIE Since I moved from casually hunting to casually activating, I've been pleasantly surprised to find how many areas are considered a park under the rules. Life keeps intervening, but my activations *will commence.
Deer season is here in Wisconsin. Changed up my normal spots and headed over to US-4258 and setup on the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan for some 1w FT8. #ParksOnTheAir
Was hearing this weird noise, thought it was a fan going bad. Nope, just the clock changing from 1:59am to 1:00am because of this silly thing called daylight savings.
