I’ll elaborate on a tweet from a good fella with a padlock on. Scottish football has hated Celtic since our inception. There’s been a pretence in modern times that we’re ‘paranoid’ or have a chip on our shoulder. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with the last 24 hours.

James Tavernier was the best player Sevco had. He dragged them through from lower leagues to a European final. As much as he was good for a "disappointed" i think he's been treated terribly by his club, no testimonial for a "hall of famer" The bit at the end is embarrassing 😄

@888MumbaiMagic The one obvious thing var has done is that it has made those who would have normally not given decisions have to give them. Beaton has failed to give Celtic 3 pens this season but has then had to because var has pointed out either he missed it or made a mistake.

Anyone else shocked as I am that Andrew "staunch bluenose" Dallas, called Beaton to the monitor?

@HamiltonRory Rory var lite that was introduced is part of the issue. EPL have over 40 cameras at a game and still get it wrong. We have 6 at Mwell. People felt we had a weak group of officials (no rep at WC) and diluting it further with new officials to cover games is also a factor.

Quite the 24 hours in Scottish football. So many eyes on our game, which we've always known to be unique and undervalued - passion, drama, tension. Brilliant. And controversy. I'll save another opinion on the debate, however the implementation of VAR needs a major rethink

@K_h__1888 Hes impact rather than a starter imo but unfortunately we dont have anyone to be a starter for us other than maeda playing out wide but again not an option with the mak up of our squad.

Unfortunately he’s absolutely shite. At first you could see potential but that quickly faded. He doesn’t contribute anywhere near as much a winger should and he has 0 end product. He’s only ever useful against teams like Dundee or livi Sell in the summer 100 percent

@Vinny5567 im on a walking football chat. Full of Falkirk and S'muir fans. Main topic on Wednesday was one lot wanting their team to lose and most wanting Mwell to win. Remarkably I stayed out of it. Top 3 disliked teams Falkirk, Hearts and them. In that order. Living here, you'd be same.

Every Celtic hater will be sitting on Saturday at 12.30 with their rule book on their knee searching desperately for the tiniest infringement committed by a Celtic player, to then scream about for weeks. Love it 🍀

For me, the late penalty given to Celtic shouldn't have been awarded. At the same time, John Beaton was put in a no-win situation under huge pressure. It's yet another example of why VAR does more harm than good, for Scottish football generally and refereeing specifically.

@mattyfro1 No var would have meant Beaton would not have given us 3 penalties this season. 2 of those penalties turned 1pt into 3.

A correct call going in Celtics favour has brought the absolute worst out in certain people. Some people who claim not to care about Scottish Football into the bargain. We know what your game is. We see you. God bless the famous Glasgow Celtic. Onto victory! ☘️

@henke_hoops @ClydeSSB Problem is Beaton did not think it was a pen until he was sent to monitor. For the 3rd time this season he has not given us a penalty which he has had to go to a monitor to tell him he's made a mistake and needs to correct it.

Gordon Duncan not being very impartial tonight @ClydeSSB John Beaton thought it was a penalty, Andrew Dallas thought it was. Many think it was, many think it wasn’t. Should the 2 refs have thought, “I think this is a penalty but I better alter that opinion in case others dont”

I have been watching football for a very long time and I've never witnessed such a one sided refereeing performance as I did the entire game tonight
