🚨 Posting A Bible Verse Shouldn’t End Someone’s Career… People are calling for the Patriots to release TreVeyon Henderson. It’s hard to believe we’ve gotten to this point…. TreVeyon Henderson posted a Bible verse about persecution and showed support for Jaden Ivey who was released for “controversial comments.” Whether people agree with the original comments or not isn’t really the bigger issue here. The bigger issue is whether supporting someone, posting a religious belief, or expressing an opinion should cost someone their career. Teams absolutely have the right to manage their brand, but there has to be a line between brand management and controlling personal beliefs and speech. Athletes are employees, but they are also citizens and members of society with opinions, beliefs, and faith. Henderson didn’t even say anything controversial. He just posted a bible verse as a way of showing his values in this circumstance. Why wouldn’t that be allowed?
