When my old lab got in so much pain from arthritis she cried every time she tried to sit or lay down, we took her to the woods& gave her a piece of bread (her favorite)& dad shot her in the back of the head. It was her favorite place& she was happy. She was afraid of the vet

@DustinLohof @FrailSkeleton .22 not the best choice. I grew up in the country and shooting an animal in the head with a .22LR was not fun. They always seem to violently move a lot afterwards.

@FrailSkeleton It was just as humane as when the vet put down my cane Corso later in life. Probably even better for him because he was happy in the woods in his final moments, not in a room at the vets office. Miss those dogs so much everyday still.
