Me, @osasuo, to @CAF_Online President Patrice Motsepe on Sunday, in Cairo: I know that the case [between #Senegal and #CAF] is at the CAS level, and that you cannot comment on it, because it is subjudice. But what you can comment on is the integrity of our judicial bodies (the CAF Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Board). One of the members of the appeals board is the president of a football federation (Moez Nasri from Tunisia). How can a political figure, like the president of a federation, sit as a member of a CAF judicial body? How did the Governance, Risk and Compliance department fail to notice that his presence constitutes a conflict of interest? What will you do, in the future, to ensure that our judicial bodies within CAF are completely independent? Motsepe: When I was informed that one of the people (appeal judges) was a president of one of our football associations, I responded: 'But come on, what is this? How did he end up there?… Of course, we must draw lessons from this kind of thing, you know… He [Moez Nasri from Tunisia] shouldn’t have been there! We need more rigour [in the selection of jurists for the DC and AB]. #Africa, what are your comments?

The CAF exco member: “Yes, you’re right. It’s better, so that we can avoid a legal humiliation from CAS. I think Motsepe has to put pressure on #Morocco, for them to withdraw this complaint, so that this matter can end. “Fouzi Lekjaa, at the exco meeting, spoke well about the need for us to restore peace within the African football family. But will he agree to this? “Fouzi came with Ahmed Yahya and Pele (the exco members from Mauritania and Niger) but they left in a private jet, after our meeting. We shall see what happens.”
