Ok - HAVE to ask, observing this context of "How can you not agree with me NOW (?!):"
Why did this man's colleagues post this private quasi-religious moment to social media, and did Pretti......even still work at this hospital?

@VoteJivan Funny, you didnt bother to attend one single meeting of the Charter Committee when all of this was debated. 🤡

Some personal news:
I’m not asking for your vote to be Cambridge’s next Mayor.
Here’s the problem though — no one is.
It’s time we changed that.

@schwarz @oren_cass All of the inconsistencies and warning signs are spelled out in this article, leading us to the answer Oren poses. He just has to stop drinking the Trump Kool-aid.
English

This is an excellent NY Times op-ed by @oren_cass which asks the question: Is Donald Trump the person he's obviously been his entire life, or is he a totally different person who exists only in Oren's imagination? nytimes.com/2025/09/03/opi…

I’d like to recognize @brianglenntv for his success in upholding the proper White House wardrobe attire.
If Brian had never asked Zelenskyy the question, “why don’t you wear a suit, do you own a suit?” I’m not sure he would have ever worn one to visit our great and respected President!!

The pharma-funded mainstream media has been touting a recent study of the Danish health registry—Andersson, et al.—which purports to show that aluminum-containing vaccines are not associated with neurological injuries including autism and Asperger's.
In the accompanying article, I inventory the long parade of statistical artifices that the industry-funded authors used to achieve their deceptive results.
Fierce criticism from the scientific community has now forced the authors to release their supplementary data, which shows calamitous evidence of harm.
These data are a devastating indictment of aluminum-containing vaccines directly contradicting the published study’s conclusions.
The data show a statistically significant 67% increased risk of Asperger’s syndrome per 1 mg increase in aluminum exposure among children born between 2007 and 2018.
Compared to the moderate exposure group, for every 10,000 children in the highest aluminum exposure cohort, there were: 9.7 more cases of neurodevelopmental disorder, 4.5 more cases of autistic disorder, and 8.7 more cases of the broader category of autism spectrum disorder.
By exposing these dangerous deceptions, @HHSGov is signaling a new era of gold standard science, obliterated taboos, and public honesty.

@jasonfurman @nytopinion Hell-ooo….the tariffs have’t “kicked in yet”. And clearly you missed the Feds data yesterday.
English

My latest @nytopinion attempts to answer the question, "The Tariffs Kicked In. The Sky Didn’t Fall. Were the Economists Wrong?"
Part of my argument is the economy actually has slowed & inflation has picked up, as you would expect.
Plus Trump called off some tariffs and lags.

@oren_cass Nothing to see here since Chip’s fellow R’s wont do a thing to help average Americans.
English

@PaTrepanier @oren_cass If you’re getting all your info from @SecScottBessent and @JDVance that explains why you dont know the answers to the questions you pose.
English

I'm with @oren_cass. Here's why:
Most of the responses questioning Oren's truthfulness seem to come from a place of deep antipathy towards the word "tariff." A couple of questions for this crowd:
1. If Tariffs are so bad, why does almost every country use them (example: Japan, China, EU countries, etc.)?
2. Why has the US run a persistent trade deficit with almost every country in the world for the past few decades?
3. Do you think that letting China into the WTO with MFN status in 2001 was good for the international community or bad?
4. Was Ross Perot right or wrong about NAFTA? If you believe he was wrong, please provide a few examples about how much better off Mexico and Mexicans are since NAFTA was introduced.
5. If the world of "free trade" is so wonderful and law-abiding, why has the WTO been stalemated since the most recent round (Doha round in 2015)?
The concept of "free trade" is a illusion created by theory-loving economists who would rather create complex graphs than look at the real world.
Has Trump been a loud blusterer during negotiations? Of course. But he is 💯 that most countries had higher tariffs than the US, that system needed to change and US industry needed to be protected because the WTO is broken. If you want a more articulate defense of why the international trade order needs to be completely revamped and made actually fair for all countries, listen to @SecScottBessent @marcorubio or @JDVance

If you've enjoyed "it was the teachers unions that wanted to keep the schools open" and "the media tried their best to tell us about Biden's mental state," you'll love "economists were right about tariffs all along."
Adam Ozimek@ModeledBehavior
If "economists were wrong" about Trump's tariffs, so were markets, which obviously panicked. Or perhaps they were all correct and then Trump retreated from hard decoupling level tariffs and you are simply trying to notch a criticism of economists for ideological reasons?

@Acyn Lutnick is a clown. EU clarified the real deal right after the meeting which made Trump look like his fellow clown.
English

Lutnick: The European union is going to pay 15%
Baier: So this 15% is on the difference the $200 billion trade deficit; is that right? Not the $2 trillion we trade with each other, right?
Lutnick: No, it's all exports to America. So basically everything they send us is going to pay 15% except for a few little things

@oren_cass @business @AnnaEconomist So your argument is tariffs do increase prices but thats not technically “inflation”, and the Fed is playing politics because they raised rates to counter the stimulus impacts but wont lower them now. Come on buddy. 😂
