Y'all are missing the plot. And I'm saying this because, genuinely, the fact that we're Nigerians is the only reason why you have a good opinion of Iran. You don't need to like the governments of Saudi and other Sunni Arab states for their inaction towards the Palestinian cause, and you also don't need to support the Rafidah for their inaction towards the Palestinian cause, and even more importantly, for their hypocrisy and the slaughter of the same Sunnis in the Middle East. You can hardly find Syrians or Iraqis supporting Iran because, at least, they know. They've felt the might of the Rafidah. That you've met Shi'a who are good is not surprising, and there's no problem with that. The position of Ahlus Sunnah is clear on the Shi'a, and the majority of them are not kuffar, just as the Khawarij are still Khawarij and not kuffar. There are many among them who do not know their own creed, just as there are many Sunnis who do not know their own creed, and yet we still interact with them and they remain Muslims. You don't need to hate the majority of the Rafidah either, especially since it's not like we hate the Nasara or the Yahud, not an al-wala wal-bara case here btw. However, you cannot compare the understanding of the typical Shi'a to the likes of their scholars, whom we have seen on camera disparaging the honour of the companions. By Allah, I've seen some of the Zaidis, the Houthis, and the Ithna Ashari Shi'a who believe some of their Imams are even greater than Allah, who seek to bomb the Ka'abah, and who insult the Khulafa al-Rashidun. I've also seen some of them make takfir of the Sunnis entirely, but this is mainly among their scholars. Of course, this is not to absolve the common folk, especially since there are also laymen among the Sunnis, like myself, whom Allah has made aware of such issues, and similar individuals can be found among the Shi'a. Verily, they have their own understanding of Aqeedah, and just as I criticise Arab governments, there is no love from me for the Rafidah or for anyone who presents their creed as Islam. Again, I still think our sympathy and recent discourse are largely because Nigeria has not faced the wrath of the Rafidah in any serious form. But that gaslighting about Iran doing anything for the Ummah should be rejected. They are doing nothing for the Ummah, and they have not done anything for the Ummah.

Some parents will be asking their daughter, "Hope he'll not turn you into a niqabi when he marries you?" or asking the guy," I hope you'll not turn our daughter to a niqabi when you marry her?" So what if he makes her fall in love with the niqab and begins to wear it?

Please study the Qur'ān. I beg you, don't just listen to the sweet voices or just read in Arabic. Study it in your preferred language and make sure to think over it. Muslims are thinkers. Muslims are ponderers. Muslims are readers. Pleased read. Read Islamic contents. Read Islamic History. Read Islamic legislations. Please read, as a Muslim. There's so much abundance of knowledge, nuance and guidance in this deen that will never be exhausted. And the fun fact is that all of them are derived from the Qur'ān. All with basis and rulings. This is why scholars derive immense depths and benefits from verses you would randomly skim past on a windy Tuesday evening. Please, read the Qur’ān. Please. May Allah grant you steadfastness upon haqq.

Healthcare wars again. All elders should sit and write out the extent of care expected from all members of a disciplinary team and squash this issue once and for all.

A lot of non-muslims (sometimes even Muslims) tend to always ask actual Muslims why they're always bringing Islam into every conversation. Why they're always referencing Islamic perspectives—in politics, in economics, in finance etc. And I always find that very interesting. Earlier today, I was accused of that, again, and it was because I'd told a person to study the Qur'ān, its tafseer and selected scholarly works for productivity, instead of sleeping on self-help books all day long. Thing is, there's absolutely nothing a human, a Muslim, wants to engage that Islam doesn't already speak to. It lays down principles for economics, finance, even frames how emerging systems like cryptocurrency are weighed, and speaks to character, relationships, ambition, restraint, and purpose. Islam isn't a compartment we Muslims switch into; it's the lens we see through. Apparently, the critique itself is revealing. It assumes Islam belongs in a box labeled “Religion.” Something you pull out on Fridays or in theological debates, then set aside when real life begins. But that's not how it works for someone who actually believes in Allah and His Messenger (SAW). If you believe the Qur'ān is Allah's speech, that the Prophet (SAW) was sent as a mercy to the world, that this deen is complete and comprehensive, then of course you reference it constantly. I mean, how could you not? The Muslim isn't expected to segment his thinking into Islamic and secular when Islam already addresses the full scope of human experience. People read self-help books for purpose, productivity, relationships, mental clarity—Islam speaks to all of that with more depth and divine precision from Allah Himself. They study philosophy for meaning—Islam provides it. They turn to economics, politics, ethics—Islam has established frameworks for those too. Hence to say Muslims are bringing Islam into everything is to completely misunderstand what Islam essentially is. Islam is the way of life. Islam is the foundation. If a matter concerns life, it falls within its guidance. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.

Both have deficiencies, yes, some worthy of retorts and some not. Equalizing both is a stretch. A big stretch. Hers is also more understandable and has room for grace, given the context. For example, it’s true that dressing a certain way might contribute to someone getting assaulted, but one should only be proclaiming this in a general sense, under neutral climes, not when there’s a current, actual victim.

What you can do is to understand that you were not created to be married. Getting married is at Allah's Behest, but what is mandatory is for you to worship Him. And how you worship Him is to first decenter men and focus on pleasing Him.

We really don’t grasp how poor people are in this country. A woman with antepartum eclampsia just had an emergency CS. Her baby needs SCBU admission, she needs ICU. The husband said he has only ₦9,000. This is the reality many face. 💔
