Is this an "algebra problem" or a grade 1-2 problem? Will many people see simultaneous equations? That works, but maybe not for a first grader. Hope our youngest kids can use reasoning – not guess and check – to solve it!

One final grade 5-6 problem! When kids are encouraged to reason and use mental math (!) from the earliest ages, problems like this are fast and fun. Enjoy!
