Instead medical teams can use AI for faster, non-invasive diagnosis of blockages in the arteries around the heart. 💡 ✅Heartflow uses AI to map how blood flows through the heart. ✅ It helps doctors see if a blockage is serious—without having to insert a wire into the heart. ✅ It can reduce unnecessary visits to the cath lab by up to 30 per cent. I was delighted to welcome Dr. Jane Philpott as she assumes her new position as Chair of our government's Primary Care Action Team. There is no one I trust more to get us across the finish line of connecting everyone in the province to primary care within the next five years.

Congratulations to Dr. Jane Philpott, who has been named the chair and lead of a new primary health care action team for the Ontario government. This week, I had the opportunity to tour the @KingstonHSC. The tour included a look at their energy systems — KHSC is one of the top hospitals in Canada for energy efficiency. They've also stopped using desflurane (an anesthetic gas) and have systems in operating rooms to recapture and reuse gases. Due to rapid population growth in #Kingston the hospital is struggling to keep on top of equipment repairs and maintenance, even with the energy savings. We talked about plans for the future of the hospital and what provincial funding needs there will be in the years to come. #ygk #onhealth
