A 31yrs old guy in Agege was arrested last night for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.... Around 10:30 PM, the girl’s mother realized her daughter wasn't inside her room and went searching for her but nowhere to be found in the vicinity. When the girl eventually returned home, her mother pressed her until she admitted she had been with the guy . The mother immediately confronted the man and warned him to stay away from her daughter. Rather than showing any remorse, the man boldly went to the mother’s house to threaten her and tell her not to speak to him in that manner — which only incriminated him further.While they were arguing, I intervened, asked what the issue was, and the mother explained the situation. When I asked the girl who the man was to her, she replied sadly, “He is my boyfriend.”I ensured the man was arrested, but I’m now conflicted. The girl’s mother is hesitant to take the case to court because she cannot afford the financial costs involved. However, I am ready and willing to support her financially through the process.This is a serious matter involving the abuse of a minor. What steps do you think we should take next?

I paid maximum of 120 pounds this winter for electricity. That's around 220k naira for 24/7 electricity. I use an electric cooker with 4 cooking hobs and an electric oven. 2 fridge/freezers (american and regular) Microwave Airfryer Dehumidifier that runs 24/7 because I never open my window Heater that occasionally runs. Water boiler that keeps my tap water hot 24/7 upon demand. Electric kettle Washing machine. I literally use electricity for everything. I pay less than the average Nigerian who enjoys 16 hour electricity and 3hours of generator daily. The affordability talk needs some nuance

Today the 24th day of March 2026, the Supreme Court of Nigeria finally ended the most agonizing journey of 96 Nigerians teachers who were unjustly redeployed to their states of origin by the government of Benue State in 2006. These Nigerians who were experienced teachers were employed by the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board and or various local governments of Benue state. They were teaching in various local government schools in Benue State until sometimes in 2006 when the government of Benue State unconstitutionally decided to redeployed them to their states of origin. These teachers were 96 in number. They came from various parts of Nigeria. By operation of law there are not indigenes of Benue State but had lived all their lives in the service of Benue State. These teachers briefed me in 2006 to challenge their unlawful and unconstitutional deployments to their states of origin on the grounds amongst other things that the Benue state government lacked the powers to deploy them to their various states in Nigeria outside the territorial jurisdiction of Benue State and that it was discriminatory to send them away from Benue state to their States of origin simply because they are not indigenes of Benue State. These teachers put in many years of useful services to the educational growth of Benue state and due to no fault of theirs the government decided to treat them unfairly. In 2006 I filled the case for them. We sought orders to set aside the redeployment and and declaration that they were still in in the employment of the state government and orders that their salaries and allowances be paid to them until they leave office or until properly removed from their employment by due process of law. The case was assigned to Hon Justice Joseph Tine Tur J as he then was later JCA but now of blessed memory. His lordship delivered judgement on 18th February 2008 in favour of the 96 teachers. He ordered their reinstatement and the payments of their salaries and allowances from 2006 until they retired or removed from office in accordance with due process of law. Their redeployment to their states of origin on the basis that there were not indigenes of Benue state was held to be unconstitutional and discriminatory and therefore null and void. The Benue state government appealed the decision and the appeal was dismissed.There was no further appeal. Yet the government did not obey the orders. The salaries and allowances were not paid as ordered. Several efforts to make the government obey the orders proved unsuccessful. In 2018 or so we calculated the salaries and allowances of the teachers. We sent it to the government to pay. It ignored it. We enforced the judgment for the payment of their salaries and allowances vide garnishes orders. After hotly contested the garnishee was made absolute in 2021 or thereabouts. Despite the garnishee orders absolute neither the garnishee nor the Benue State government respected the court orders. We waited and waited to no avail. Judgments of court orders must be obeyed. So in 2024 we executed the garnishee orders absolute against the account of the garnishees. That was the beginning of another litigation. The Benue State government filed a suit for the interpretation of the garnishees orders absolute and the judgment of the court in 2008. We filed objections to the jurisdiction of court to interpret judgment. Our objection was sustained and the case dismissed. Appeal to the Court of Appeal was dismissed. The further appeal to the Supreme Court was dismissed. At today’s proceedings the Supreme Court gave decent burial to the case. To obtain immediate justice in Nigeria is difficult. But for the fact the Supreme Court was firm today the appeal would have been adjourned. The Supreme Court ended the excruciating journey of nightmare of 96 Nigerians today. These 96 Nigerians last received salaries and allowances in 2005. God bless the justices of the Supreme Court always.

Gamal Abdel Nasser openly called for Israel’s destruction, massed troops, and closed the Straits of Tiran. Facing annihilation, Israel struck preemptively and took control of the West Bank (then under Jordanian control), Gaza (under Egyptian control), Sinai, and the Golan Heights. That was a security response to an existential threat. And here is where the “Greater Israel” myth completely collapses. 1979: Israel signs peace with Egypt under Anwar Sadat. It returns the entire Sinai Peninsula, territory several times its own size. In 1994, Israel and Jordan signed a peace treaty, and Israel returned disputed lands as part of that agreement. A Lebanon: In 1982, Israel entered southern Lebanon not to expand, but because Palestinian militias had effectively taken over parts of the country and were launching constant attacks across the border. Lebanon had become a base of operations against Israel. Israel pushed in to remove that threat. And then in 2000, it withdrew. No annexation. No “Greater Israel.” Just left. Gaza: In 2005, Israel withdrew completely. Every soldier, every settlement removed. That territory was not kept, not annexed, given up. The Golan Heights: Strategic high ground overlooking northern Israel, used repeatedly to shell Israeli communities before 1967. Its control is about preventing that from happening again. Security, not hegemony. Yet still, according to the testimony of former Egyptian President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak, Israel offered Hafez al-Assad a withdrawal in exchange for peace, but he refused. Every territorial move Israel made was driven by security threats, not expansionist ideology. And when those threats were credibly reduced, Sinai, Lebanon, Gaza, Israel withdrew. So where is the “Greater Israel”? Where is this supposed empire? It exists only in propaganda. Israel has repeatedly traded land for peace, withdrawn from territory, and avoided permanent expansion even when it had the power to do so. Meanwhile, the same voices pushing this myth ignore the actual history of conquest and domination in the region, where expansion was not defensive, but ideological. Withdrawing from the West Bank today, under current conditions, would not be peace, it would be suicide. It would mean creating another Gaza overlooking Israel’s core population centers. No serious country does that. No nation hands strategic ground to forces committed to its destruction. So again: where is the “Greater Israel”? It doesn’t exist. It’s a narrative, useful, repeated, and detached from reality.
