For a league that averages just over a goal a game, the last day of the Ghana Premier League has always produced quite the most interesting results. For this season, Atta Kumi (Bibiani Gold Stars, pictured) had 13 goals, 3 behind Augustine Okrah of Bechem United going into the final day. On the last day today, he scored 6 goals in an 8-3 win against already relegated Eleven Wonders to steal the goal king award from Okrah. Not the first time this has happened. In 2017, Hans Kwofie (Ashgold) went into the last day with 13 goals, one behind leading scorer Stephen Sarfo of Berekum Chelsea. On the final day against champions Aduana Stars, he scored four goals in a 4-2 win to snatch the goal king award. In 2022, Yaw Arnor went into the final day with 20 goals, one behind Kotoko’s Frank Etouga. On the final day against Bibiani Gold Stars, he netted a first half brace that took him above the Cameroonian into top spot, and just enough to equal Ishmael Addo’s 22-goal haul from 2001. Another example from a little further back to 2007- Emmanuel Clottey for Olympics against Kotoko. Kotoko needed a win to beat Ashgold for the second CL slot (back when first and second qualified for the CL) and Clottey needed 3 goals to become goal king. Kotoko secured the win they needed and Clottey scored three, just enough to secure him the goalking in a 5-3 victory. Ashgold also won that day and Kotoko didn’t get the spot lol

NEW: A Chicago man and woman have been shot in their car with a baby in the back seat. Three people were seen running up to the vehicle and firing at least two dozen shots. They then ran away & jumped into an Alfa Romeo. Witnesses say they ran up to the car to find the baby, holding a lollipop and crying, in the back seat.
