@dhh @FrameworkPuter seems like if you value a oled, you go with the XPS. If you value a normal keyboard and upgradability, go with the framework.... Hard decision, but I think its Framework for me, because of the company. Plus, I intend to dock it most of the time anyways... But that oled though

Congrats to @FrameworkPuter for shipping the new F13 Pro with Panther Lake! I've had a unit for a while, and made sure that Omarchy works great on it out of the box. Love the fun new colors for the keyboard too. If you're fine with an IPS panel, this is a great choice.

@AkkadSecretary Increased productivity means value is higher in supply, thus substantially lower cost. We live in an investment economy, investing warmsfar more than a 9-5. 9-5 is just cash flow, wealth comes from investing. Stop comparing yourself the the 1900s economy, we are in 2026.

my mom once showed me the house my parents bought for 70k fresh out of school. she was like “okay but you have to understand we were only making 70k per year combined!” i was like “you’re telling me you bought a house for the same amount as your joint annual income at age 25?”

@SpencerHakimian Sa already does, they have a pipeline which has a capacity of 5mil barrels per day. It already runs at or near capacity, so when the straight closes they can't send more to the other side... Iraq, Kuwait, UAE don't have long range pipelines like that.

This is probably a stupid question but can someone explain it to me like I’m 5. If Iran blocks off the Persian Gulf/Strait of Hormuz, why can’t countries must move their oil through The Red Sea/Gulf of Aden?

On Saturday, Iran's government claimed the U.S. and Israel bombed a school - without evidence - and the media made that the headline. Trump talks about Tylenol and autism - media: "Trump makes claim, without evidence." The media is more skeptical of America than our enemies.

@peterboghossian 1. It's a existential threat, no time to second guess, lives at risk, fight or flight mode activated. 2. I'm a good person, only bad ppl don't believe in the existential threat! It's a emotional manipulation that says everyone's dieing, anyone who thinks is actively killing.

Listen closely to what she says from 0:52 on. After teaching, researching, publishing, and making critical thinking my life’s work, I am convinced that this attitudinal disposition is THE barrier to critical thinking. This is it. In a nutshell.

This is an amazing video, and it basically just confirms every suspicion I had about how little politically-active left-wingers think things through. It’s zero. It really is just, “I have to be rabidly adherent to what I’m told or I’m not a good person.”

@peterboghossian Well.... Trump Took down Maduro and Khamenei without a single casualty.... Biden couldnt even withdraw from Afghanistan without losing 13 American lives and millions (or was it billions?) of dollars worth of military equipment?.. Yea I don't want to imagine that. Thanks though.

Of course you should not think of them as just humans. But they were designed by humans and face the same exact limitation on perceptions (they are not omniscient). Merely stating where we overlap, does not imply that they are the same. While that is a major common denominator, a major difference is that they perceive the world through 0's and 1's, translated into human language, created by mankind, where humans perceive the world by living in objective reality with vision, sound, taste, touch, and smell. Additionally, they are not sentient, they absolutely exist in a completely separate reality than mankind, they only pretend to exist in our reality. LLM's are still perceiving the world subjectively, not objectively, and limiting scope will have the same benefits as it does with humans. LLM's just have a much larger capacity and speed potential. That also means that when they make mistakes its equally as vast.

@KKliamovich @ThePrimeagen No. A much better way to think about LLMs is to understand how they're trained and tuned. Thinking of them as "just like humans" will mislead you more often than not.

Its the same with humans. The more you constrain the focus and perception, the higher resolution of what is in focus. Here is fun thought to have, the USA military used this tactic to capture Maduro, by overloading the all of their soldiers with to much 'data' aka sound and aircraft, to hide the detail of the extraction team.

@ThePrimeagen @justinmk @teej_dv Building my nvim config + arch and hyprland setup years ago was my intro to the world of tech. I'm currently running something that matches Omarchy that I built myself from scratch. Just that alone has been an amazing learning experience.
