Every time you raise, grow or hunt your own food and medicine, every time you buy from a local source, every time you disregard a license or regulation or when you make the conscious decision to live as much as you can outside the system, “you are doing something”.

@PierrePoilievre Green lights are better than red lights but what Canadians need are property rights such that politicians have no role in saying ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in the first place.

Mortgage debt at a record high. Delinquencies rising. Highest housing costs in the G7. Consumer insolvencies at their highest level since the Great Recession. Under the Carney Liberals, Canadians are barely getting by. Let’s fix it: get this Liberal government out of the way, green-light big projects, and take all taxes off homebuilding and groceries to unlock prosperity for Canadian families.

Private theft is disturbing but it’s dwarfed (and, to some extent, driven) by public theft. More than $1 trillion a year is ‘taxed’ by federal, provincial and municipal governments. That’s roughly $65 a person a day.

You have every right to know what your government is doing, and they have no right to know what you are doing. That is why they are called public servants and we are called private citizens. Instead, the relationship has been inverted. The state hides behind secrecy, classified files, and redactions while demanding total visibility into your finances, communications, movement, and behavior. A society where the rulers live in privacy while the population lives under surveillance is the very definition of tyranny.

Some kids have disabilities. A good society takes care of them. Helps them grow up, and ensures every kid gets the kind of education they deserve. But in Ford’s Ontario, we’re no longer that good. And that’s a shame.
