@PierrePoilievre Sure, ‘take taxes off groceries,’ but don’t stop there. Take taxes off incomes and investments and imports and sales — and everything else.
Put down the scalpel, pick up the chainsaw, cut hundreds of billions of dollars and let hundreds of thousands of bureaucrats get real jobs.
English

@PierrePoilievre Conservatives want one permit.
Libertarians want no permit.
If you need to ask beg permission or pay tribute, or both, it’s not your property.

Canadians now carry more debt than what our entire country's economy generates in a year.
Half live paycheque to paycheque.
1 in 4 face food insecurity.
There were 2.2 million visits to food banks in a single month.
Life is getting more expensive and Canadians can't keep up.
We need to take taxes off groceries and get government out of the way of economic growth, so hard work pays off with strong paycheques that buy more.

@YourAnonCentral Everyone has the right to live their own lives, on their own terms, unless and until they violate the life, liberty or property of anyone else — whatever ‘the law’ says.

@ProfeserAnthrax @LibertarianCDN I think the aim would be to immediately (and I mean immediately) cut the budget to the extent necessary to cancel the deficit and at least stop the bleeding.
We would have to cut even more to begin treating the underlying disease — but step one is not making it worse.
English

@KMLOnt @LibertarianCDN The voluntary part I don’t agree with but we can leave that for another day lol
But you would have to keep taxes in place just to deal with the existing deficit no?
English

@ProfeserAnthrax @LibertarianCDN … the legitimacy of the debt in the first place.
I say we let the politicians who took it out pay it down and repudiate the rest. They have no moral right to assign their debt to us.
English

@ProfeserAnthrax @LibertarianCDN I couldn’t agree more.
We would say that if a service is truly good and necessary — defence, for example — it could and would be funded voluntarily.
Our platform calls for re-negotiating and reducing the debt as far as possible but I (and some others) go further and question…
English

@ProfeserAnthrax @LibertarianCDN The deficit isn’t much of a challenge when you’re not married to the welfare state and the spending it necessitates. Socialized medicine, for example, which ‘conservatives’ swear to preserve and protect.
Cut taxes — and cut spending even more.
English

@KMLOnt @LibertarianCDN What’s the libertarian approach to lowering the deficit?
English

@nemo_gratis The gilded age was because taxes were low, not because tariffs are good. Any theft, any taxation, is destructive.
If you want to pay more for domestic goods, that’s cool, but you have no right to force anyone (or everyone) else to follow suit.
English

@KMLOnt Wrong.. Taxes or Tariffs? Income tax started a little over 100yrs ago, the world ran on Tariffs. What you're whining about is a globalist mindset. We don't need to have trillions in trade, we need to have local people take care of each other. FUCK GOVT. FK corps

@Gilles_Borghese By all means, kill terrorists, but you can’t kill their families and neighbours (and other innocents) without becoming a murderer and a terrorist yourself.
English

@KMLOnt Sigh..Hamas exist upon a covenant to exterminate the Jews. Iran declared war upon the West in 1979.
Look what appeasement to these has accomplished.
English

@Gilles_Borghese … Canada and neither me nor my family are responsible for any wrong or aggression Canada may do to you.
To hold us responsible anyway is to act immorally, aggressively and criminally.
English

@Gilles_Borghese It’s neither necessary nor defensive to kill innocent people.
I’m not a pacifist but, as a libertarian, I don’t make sweeping exceptions to non-aggression.
The alternative view, with respect, is to reduce people to collective pawns and proxies of their rulers.
I’m not…
