A study on transmission of the parasite that causes Chagas disease in dog kennels encountered a surprising finding: a dead kissing bug with a still-viable parasite in its gut. 🔗 Chagas Disease Parasite Can Survive in Dead Kissing Bugs, Study Finds entomologytoday.org/2024/11/21/cha…

Any part of the federal government knowingly concealing evidence about UAP from the public? "Yes Sir." - Timothy Gallaudet "100%." - Lue Elizondo "Yes." - Michael Shellenberger "Yes." - Mike Gold What do you believe UAP could be or are? "Strong evidence that they are non-human higher intelligence." - Timothy Gallaudet "I echo my colleague's comment, Sir." - Lue Elizondo "Genuinely do not know." - Michael Shellenberger "Don't know but we must find out." - Mike Gold

Today is the day I realized I exist in a bubble of wonderful, educated scientists who are kind and care about the world and all its people. Unfortunately, the majority of the country is not in this bubble.

A new study finds common insect repellents fail to repel deer keds, but permethrin-treated clothing and nitrile gloves can make bites less likely. 🔗 Meet the Deer Ked: The Fly Makes Life Tough for Hunters and Hikers entomologytoday.org/2024/10/01/dee…

Awesome write up of our work on deer keds & repellents! Basically, commercial repellents don’t seem to repel keds, but they might kill keds if given enough time. 💀🪰 Always fun working with @mskvarla36 @MachtingerLab @norman_cal5445 & the team on these funny little flies! 🤗
