@Senninsage Exactly my point this view of game success and the view of slumping consile sales could ultimately shift the strategy from hardware +games to only games since games are the actual money makers and PS fans have the capability of funding Xbox studios with there numbers

@KOfficial03 Playstation has hit the whatever million mark, and is still below Xbox in terms of third-party & first-party game sales (including dlc & micro-transactions) and subscription sales.
All those console sales yet behind Xbox in this. Millions don't value PS exclusives all that much.

Don't get it twisted, Xbox fans. Xbox games dominating & reaching larger audiences across platforms, even Playstation, is GOOD for Xbox & Xbox gamers.
Playstation and Nintendo are more popular in places Xbox isn't. Someone else being able to play a game doesn't hurt Xbox fans.

You either want to see Xbox limit its games to Xbox consoles and PC alone, knowing full well that Xbox consoles aren't nearly as popular with the casual crowd as Nintendo or Playstation, or you want to see Xbox dominate with game releases while still satisfying hardcore xbox fans

@Senninsage Exactly ! Selling more games …the console sales are slumping but not the games ….with this logic Microsoft could pivot and just wholly focus on publishing … consile sales are a mess but not game revenue

@KOfficial03 Xbox as a brand currently is selling far more games than it ever has during the 360 era. Did you know that? It also has many more monthly active users, and this was true even before Activision Blizzard.
I don't see Xbox slumping. Best first-party in gaming, best value in gaming.

@KOfficial03 Also, for millions of gamers out there Ghost of Yotei doesn't matter & Wolverine's existence along with Halo, Gears etc., still won't stop Xbox gamers from purchasing an Xbox console. That's just the power of the brand. And moving forward, Helix will appeal to PC gamers too.

@Senninsage Xbox 360 saw Xbox have a market share of 83 million sales … Xbox one reaches and that number slumped to 40million and this generation it’s at 31 million …there is no brand power .. in economics there is what they call incentives … what do people get not “brand power”

Strategic hardware exclusives can be one thing, but you have to weigh what you are gaining versus what you're losing very carefully. Xbox both already owned & acquired some of the most popular games and IP in the world, so the risk of what Xbox could be losing is always high.

@Senninsage Call me crazy but I feel exclusives would keep Xbox(hardware) alive longer because if I can play Xbox games on PlayStation tgen why not buy a PlayStation and just enjoy both PS and Xbox games on one console … if people migrate because of this tgen hardware sales slump

Don't be crazy. Anybody gaming on Xbox is being well served and gets all the games cheaper and more convenient through Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.
Xbox fans who want to continue seeing years like this should welcome the audience for these games being far larger.

Xbox Games Showcase 2026 is almost here with a deep dive into Gears of War: E-Day Direct.
In my first month, I heard clearly that our community values Xbox FanFest. As part of the return of Xbox, we made the decision to bring it back to LA to recognize the players who’ve been with us over the years.
