180 Not Out, celebrating 180 years of @BedfordSchool cricket, officially comes out 4th July. Also 180 this year are @surreycricket and I Zingari. It’s the first complete public school cricket history since Colfe School in 1986. @ACScricket

@KPAC55 @F1NKS I also feigned illness to avoid what I thought was a Rugby lesson only to find we were playing Football. I quickly recovered but John Milner told me to sit it out despite my protestations that a miracle had occurred.

Came across this picture on line of St Peters School Rugby team in the mid 60's. Some might recognise the teacher. A fine man and good Cricketer. Some of my Football teammates doubling up. @F1NKS

@BTCCArchive @BedfordshireCCC At the time of his passing Pete was believed to be the oldest living @BedfordshireCCC player. Joined the MCC Ground Boys staff with later Beds players Trevor Morley & Gerry Sly and after with John Murray, Eric Russell, Don Bennett and Jim Standen. #RIPPJO

Wishing a very Happy 90th Birthday 🎂 to Bedford Town CC 🏏 legend and all-time leading wicket taker, Peter Oakley. A BTCC debut in 1948 leading to 50+ seasons and 3,000+ wickets for the club 😲 Likely to be the oldest @BedfordshireCCC living player?? #PJO #buggerme

Remembering the wonderful English actor H B Warner who was born on this day in 1876. He died in 1958. He is best remembered for playing Jesus Christ in King of Kings (1927) and Mr Gower in It's a Wonderful Life (1946) #HBWarner #KingOfKings #ItsAWonderfulLife

All I seem to hear these days is news of friends passing away. Former Huntingdon Cricketer and administrator Mike Swift left us this week. He was the man mainly responsible for me joining the Club. @KPAC55 @PodCook

Hi @ACScricket, according to the official records of Wimborne Cemetery, Nicholas Wanostrocht’s date of death is 7th Sep 1876, not 3rd Sep as listed by CA What’s the source for the 3rd Sept date? (wimbornecemetery.co.uk/nicholas-wanos…) #CricketTwitter @tintin1107 @PeteG_cricket

Always good to catch up with former @NorthantsCCC and @HortonHouseCC batsman - and all-round good egg - David Roberts, whose son Kian has been fielding for @SomersetCCC at Taunton today. David could play a bit too - remember his excellent Champo century against Essex in 1997?

@AnnieChave @KelvinFavell I'm feasibly going to put the mockers on them, but Messers Hill and Roberts are building a nice partnership here I was also thinking, imagine being 18(K.Roberts) and playing List A cricket. Furthermore, in a team with 3 fellow teenagers Marvellous stuff. #VivaTheMetroOneDayCup 🏏🫡🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Yes, I noticed that young Alex was born in Peterborough @KelvinFavell @KPAC55 On my one and only appearance against @GoddyCricket , a certain Christopher James Turner tried to get the match postponed due to (very) light rain. The match went ahead and when I came out to bat it wasn't long before I was facing big Chris. To say I let it go to my head was an understatement. I tried to hit his spin bowling for a six only to end up being caught at cow corner🫣. He loved his sports did Turns and was always generous with his time. Great memories

@KelvinFavell @Edgaralanpoe48 Are you aware Kelvin that Alex Green’s father Karl played for @GoddyCricket as did his grandfather Pip?

@KPAC55 @Edgaralanpoe48 @GoddyCricket No I didn’t Kevin. Any relation of Ian Green of your parish? Small world isn’t it. Bumped into Steve Dighton yesterday. Peter Hanscomb’s Dad was a near neighbour in Sapley Road. Best I can do. Same house connected to the Maddy family.

Sussex vs. Somerset on the morrow is an absolute hum dinger. And, as said, to be able to access the Metro One Day Cup(& The County Championship) via free live streams is admirable. It's also splendiferous when ex-players join the streams. Furthermore, both competitions provide a platform for a plethora of burgeoning cricket players. It's great to see the older pro's genuinely guiding them along, to boot
