When lawmakers offer prayers after tragedy instead of laws, they’re reminding you that by choosing their governance you accept that only God might help, not them.

Our institutions failed. Our safeguards failed. Our checks and balances failed. Most of our officials failed. The American people did NOT fail. We fought. And against overwhelming odds, we derailed an autocrat. And we will continue to fight for the justice we deserve.

10,500 Americans are dead - 1 in 7 of deaths worldwide. Trump is tweeting snark, doing daily campaign rallies, and blaming everyone but himself. He has not plan, no strategy. He refuses a national lockdown. He continues to fail on testing and coordinating medical supplies.

The U.S. had a program - PREDICT - that identified lethal viruses abroad to prevent their spread to the U.S.. It had found 1,200 viruses (and 160 coronaviruses) in 10 years. It was actively working in China. Two months before the Wuhan outbreak, Trump shut the program down.
