That’s a lot of white pills in just one week—Jewar Airport inauguration, Kaynes OSAT launch, ISM 2.0 nod by the Finance Ministry, and the WDFC now fully operational. The Modi government’s infrastructure push over the past decade is clearly laying the groundwork to accelerate India’s growth story in the decades ahead.
DFCCIL@dfccil_india

A proud and historic moment for DFCCIL! The successful trial run of freight trains marks the completion of the entire Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) on 31st March 2026, with operations carried out on the JNPT–New Saphale (Vaitarna) section. A container train in the down direction (JNPT → New Saphale) departed at 11:50 hrs, hauled by an electric locomotive, while in the up direction (New Saphale → JNPT), a container train also departed at 11:50 hrs, powered by a diesel locomotive. Conducted under the leadership of Sh. Praveen Kumar, MD/DFCCIL, this trial run signifies the operational readiness of the critical 102 km balance section of the WDFC. It marks a major milestone towards commissioning the corridor for freight operations and demonstrates that the newly commissioned high-rise electrified, high-capacity double-line infrastructure is fully prepared for seamless and efficient movement of goods. The occasion was graced by Sh. Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director/OP&BD; Sh. Anurag Sharma, Director/Infrastructure; Sh. M. K. Awasthy, ED/Infrastructure; Sh. Sandesh Srivastava, ED/Projects; Sh. Vikas Srivastava, GGM/S&T; Sh. Ran Vijay Singh, GGM/Electrical; Sh. Amit Saurastri, GM/CC; and Sh. H. G. Tiwari, CGM/Mumbai, along with other senior officers and the dedicated DFCCIL team. This achievement will add a new chapter to India’s logistics landscape—unlocking faster port connectivity, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and enabling greener, more reliable freight movement. The full commissioning of WDFC marks a transformative step in strengthening the nation’s logistics backbone and accelerating economic growth. With uninterrupted end-to-end connectivity now established, train operations will become significantly more efficient, requiring fewer sets (2 sets) of crew between New Makarpura and New JNPT due to reduced operational handovers and streamlined running. Additionally, freight trains will experience a reduction of nearly four hours in transit time, enabling faster turnaround of rolling stock, improved asset utilization, enhanced schedule reliability, and greater capacity for handling increased freight volumes. #DFCCIL #WDFC #FreightCorridor #JNPT #LogisticsRevolution #RailInfrastructure #NewIndia #Milestone

PLI has emerged as the single biggest catalyst for manufacturing momentum. We must sustain and deepen this PLI- and DLI-led push, while recalibrating policies to meaningfully incentivize R&D and align industry investment with innovation.

The Dassault Rafale acquisition is necessary to arrest the declining squadron strength of the Indian Air Force. But India is fully capable of developing and fielding fifth-generation aircraft—leave aside 4.5-gen platforms. We are not in a position like Pakistan, which claims the JF-17 Thunder as indigenous despite limited design IP ownership. Keep the trolling to your side.
RAJA Imran@enconnect

France: 'Here's your shiny Rafale, bro. Local production? Sure. Tech transfer? Of course.' India: 'Great, now the source codes for RBE2 and SPECTRA?' France: 'Lmao no, that's our family recipe. Pay premium for upgrades forever ❤️' MoD: opens purse wider 'Please sir, one sovereignty please.' Meanwhile squadron strength keeps dropping. Peak Atmanirbhar.

Beneath the hype, the Make in India drive for weapons is not working. Firms are getting knocked down kits and assembling them locally. Local OEMs are struggling. Surplus production is flowing to paramilitaries and police. See this video and read this: thepolisproject.com/read/india-def…

I’m not a naysayer—I’m optimistic that India can, in time, emerge as a serious exporter of defence systems, on par with the United States, France, China and Germany. But that outcome hinges on keeping Vision 2047 anchored in reality: sustained, large-scale investment in R&D is the only credible path to building such capability—not shortcuts, optics, or assembly-led narratives. I’ve articulated this in detail in my articles.

@MinhazMerchant @KPSingh0809 Whenever I read posts of naysayers like @KPSingh0809, your article 'Nawabs of Negetivity' comes to mind. This fellow's bio says he is Jack of many Trades but Master of None. @KPSingh0809 have you seen the agreements signed by GoI & France govt or blindly believing this rubbish.

You couldn’t even deliver five F404-IN20 engines for the HAL Tejas Mk1A program over the last two years—fix that first, General Electric, before indulging in these optics-driven distractions.

The private industry has now matured enough to take on complex engineering challenges. The onus is on the Government of India to actively leverage and incentivize these capabilities by aligning procurement policies and the R&D ecosystem with them. Companies like PTC are strategic assets to the nation.
PTC Industries@Ptcil

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 & 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. PTC Industries and Aerolloy Technologies mark another defining milestone with the installation and successful trials of 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 for critical materials. This 𝟰𝟱𝟬𝟬/𝟱𝟭𝟬𝟬𝗧 press now is operational at the Strategic Materials Technology Complex in Lucknow. This is not incremental capacity. This is a strategic capability. Engineered for precision and scale, this system enables production of large, complex forgings in 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘂𝗺, 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘆𝘀, and advanced high-performance alloys powering critical components that form the backbone of next-generation aeroengines and mission-critical defence platforms. With this, our ecosystem now brings together melting, casting, and forging - all in one location. No other supply chain globally offers this level of integration at this scale and precision at the same location. With this step, we do. What this unlocks: 🔹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Building domestic strength in critical forging capabilities that India has long relied on imports for. 🔹 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: Meeting the exacting requirements of advanced civil and military aerospace programs worldwide. 🔹 𝗘𝗻𝗱-𝘁𝗼-𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹: From critical materials to finished components with scale, and reliability at every step. This milestone is part of a larger conviction to build, scale, and lead in high-performance materials and manufacturing. From India, for the world. Read more here: tinyurl.com/ptcil-opendief…

I am not a fan of the Sukhoi Su-57 either. Capability is built through sustained R&D, not through superficial ToT churans. I would rather back indigenous programs like TEDBF and ORCA, leveraging the latest technologies developed across DRDO labs and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. That’s the path to building real capability—one that can eventually surpass platforms like the Dassault Rafale and add to GDP (2.5x multiplier impact) as we need to grow our economy too.
