@EDintrovert Hi Coeller! Thank you so much, I think this is one of those things that doesn’t come up very often, but my goodness I would not want to be unprepared if I didn’t have OBGYN on call and if a patient was hemorrhaging. So great to see you, your talk from last year was so inspiring!

I’m so sorry to hear about your family’s losses, miscarriage is so hard (understatement, can be outright devastating). I agree the majority of patients don’t need a procedure (but some do). I think our patients will benefit from having EM physicians better versed in expectant...

MISCARRIAGE IS EM and we need to care more. Manual uterine aspiration to remove POC in ED is simple, safe, fast, efficacious, cost efficient, decreases admissions, conserves OR resources, and improves ED flow. Need dept champs, protocols and training! @KQ_MD @feminemtweets #FIX19

#GoldfarbChallenge I had just put in a chest tube for a hemopneumothorax from a gunshot wound, when I realized I had forgotten the mechanism of action of the diphtheria toxoid! #ThisIsOurLane

@redstockinglady Thanks so much for the question! For the overwhelming majority of patients who receive MUA in the ED, they’re candidates for the procedure bc they’re bleeding already, and most of them have a cervix that is already open, so no dilation is necessary.
