According to JPMorgan, the last deliveries of Gulf oil, and fuel products refined from Gulf oil, will be next week for Asia & Africa, in two weeks for Europe, and in three weeks for N. America & Australia. Someone had better pull their finger out.

Under IEA rules, Australia is required to maintain 90 days' supply of fuels. Here's the actual numbers yesterday:

200 helium containers are stranded in the Persian Gulf right now. Each one holds 41,000 liters cooled to -269°C. The containers have no refrigeration. No compressor, no cooling loop. Insulation is all that stands between the cargo and ambient heat, and it buys 35 to 48 days. After that, the liquid boils, the pressure valve opens, and the helium vents to atmosphere. Re-liquefying it requires a specialized plant. Most ports do not have one. Qatar's North Field supplied 33% of the world's helium as a byproduct of cryogenic separation at its LNG plants. On March 2, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. Spot prices surged 70 to 100 percent. EUV lithography requires 99.9999% purity helium for wafer cooling and no current substitute exists. The fifth helium shortage since 2006 has just begun.

Holy shit! Look at Murban price this morning (Oz time). fyi, Murban Crude Oil Future is the main Middle East price, equivalent to WTI in US & Brent in EU. It's a physically delivered contract, basis FOB Fujairah (ADNOC) loading terminal, UAE.

Fujairah is just about the only sizeable Middle East oil terminal that does NOT require ships to pass through Hormuz - hence the scramble for supply from there.

@stevejjb36 Here's my solar data. Works fine for us on the edge of the tropics and with 300 days of sunshine each year. We live remotely so have space for a large panel array. Of course it won't work in high latitudes like the UK, or in cities where people don't have space for panels.

@KQuick20704342 there must come a time where the citizens realize net zero is TOO EXPENSIVE and vote out there governments for a slower change from fossil fuels, i have solar and in summer it works fine,just the other 7 months its at 40% output down to 25%..
