(1/2)FUNNEL CLOUD: Mindy Cannon sent me this video of a funnel cloud taking shape just northwest of Fillmore, Utah this afternoon! I sped up the video a little bit so you could see the clear rotation extending down from the cloud. #utwx

(2/2)If it would’ve touched the ground, this would’ve been a “tornado” indeed. After reviewing radar, this was associated with a developed thunderstorm and had a rotation signature. Pretty fun stuff for Utah standards. 🌪️

@KSL_Matt Not sure. The app I have says 0.72”, but it took awhile for it to start sticking. It was snowing hard for at least 30 minutes. Rain before and after. Rain has now melted it all. Live the moisture though.

(1/2)SUNDAY - MONDAY RAINFALL: I’ve divided out the Wasatch Front rain totals into 2 days. You’ll notice on Sunday’s rainfall totals that the model average suggests the brunt of the rain will be north of SLC, courtesy of a stalling rain band.

@KSL_Matt My hunch is Sundance is going to crush it with water on this one. Let's see if it happens!

@JMichaelsonUT Yeah. Seeing rain garages in the area showing .18” in Tooele, .01” at Tooele airport and .49” in Stockton. Looks like flow is switching to NW right now, usually bodes better for Tooele valley

@KSL_Matt Everything is crossed. So far there's barely been enough here to wet the sidewalk.

@JMichaelsonUT I can tell you right now for the month of April it’s been wrong. Precip will likely finish above avg. when COC called for high confidence of it being below avg in the west

2026 SUMMER MONSOON: The Climate Prediction Center (CPC) continues to predict a not only active monsoon season, but an early onset to the season too. If this were to pan out it would be the ideal scenario for helping to end the fire season early! #utwx

On top of the Wellsvilles this morning stands my adventurous mountain climbing brother. Still a good amount of snow at the top. Beautiful, green cache valley below! @KSL_Matt

(2/2) Right now it's looking like .25-.75 from Fillmore to Logan, but pockets of 1 to 2" are possible in some areas. We're still about 36 hours out from the onset of this system... but it looks like the brunt of the rain will fall on Sunday!

(1/2)TRENDING WETTER: Our Sunday - Monday system is looking like it will have a rich subtropical tap of moisture. This inherently increases our chances of more widespread soaking rains. On the flip side this will push snow levels to 8,000FT Sunday.
