Amateur astronomer, radio DX'er, GIS. Has fun with maps, especially so-called "flat earth" maps. Forgive laziness in follow-backs, so many bots these days!

@KanChristo TY! It was really nice tonight, but way, way too warm and only getting more so, dang it. No snowpack this year.

Absolutely off the hook sunset tonight! Hope you all caught it! These are completely unedited, just played around with the exposure times. 1/? #utwx

@KSL_Matt @n0dimmer I saved these from Alta. Biggest shame is that all the gains we got in the GSL in 2023-24 and average 2024-25 will now be erased and probably end up worse off.

3 years ago today we were watching cabins get swallowed up by a record snowpack in Fairview Canyon, Utah. Today we are staring down the barrel of a season ending heatwave ON TOP the worst snowpack since 1980. We went from first to worst in 3 short years, can you believe that??

This might surprise you! ⛰️ Even though we’ve had a historic low snowpack this winter, total precipitation at Alta is actually near average. From October 1 – March 12, Alta has picked up 29.28" of precipitation, which is about 0.67" above the 30-year average for this point in the water year. So why is the snowpack so low? 🌡️ Mild temperatures have played a big role. Many storms this winter have been warmer, producing high water-content snow and even rain at times in the mountains. The result: near-average precipitation, but snow totals running about 10 feet below average at Alta specifically.

@ChaseThomason I think more shocking is that we were so vastly far ahead of normal at the end of October but have now almost entirely burned through it back to near deficit in SLC.

In the state of Wyoming in the USA lies a real hydrological oddity. It's a small stream (creek) that is thought to be the only one of very few examples in the world. It is placed so precariously and perfectly that it's hard to believe it is able to exist. 1/n

They know that if they produce a correct uniformly and linearly scaled map of the flat Earth bad things will happen to them. Up to and including being taken to Gitmo and having educated clones of themselves returned to society.

So foreground obstruction doesn't exist either in your paradigm? Oh yeah, b/c you need it to be your "erf curve". Hijacking perspective. We know the EFFECT! Low camera angles when closer to objects mimick distance and objects moving into that distance. Same effect!
