Congratulations to the 193rd Special Operations Wing for receiving their first brand new MC-130J Commando II earlier today.
This is is the second MC-130J the 193 SOW has received this year to replace the retiring EC-130.

Satellite images show signs of an attack at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, with The Wall Street Journal now reporting that an Iranian missile damaged “several U.S. refueling aircraft.”

This aircraft seen over Larissa, Greece is not a B-2 like the local Greek news reported or an RQ-170, but is in fact best imagery ever published of the RQ-180, an undisclosed low observable drone used by the USAF. Location suggests use in the Iran conflict onlarissa.gr/2026/03/18/mys…

For example back in 2023 a large portion of the fleet had to be grounded because a pin that connects the tail to the fuselage. The pins were manufactured not to spec and installed into airframe.
The faulty pins could have resulted in total airframe lost.

I want to add that the average age of a KC-135 is around 63 years old. While this could very well be human error, the tanker fleet is getting extremely old, fragile, and costly to maintain properly.

U.S. Central Command is aware of the loss of a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft. The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue efforts are ongoing. Two aircraft were involved in the incident. One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, and the second landed safely. This was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire. A 747-800 USAF aircraft acquired as part of the Air Force One replacement program just landed at Joint Base Andrews. However, this aircraft reportedly will NOT be Air Force One, but will instead serve as a training aircraft for AF1 pilots.
