She Lives!!!! 63-8017 arrived at RAF Mildenhall this afternoon as REACH 564 from Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. This airframe was involved in a mid-air collision back in March with ZEUS 95, which was sadly lost along with the crew. 63-8017 limped back to Tel Aviv with the top half of it's tail broken off. Today, making it's first flight since the incident, REACH 564 arrived at RAF Mildenhall with the vertical stabiliser from 63-8002, another KC-135 which was retired to the boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in March. This is quite a unique aircraft at the moment, sporting the tail numbers of two airframes. @usairforce @boeing @MATA_osint @DefenceGeek @ArmchairAdml @Osinttechnical @sentdefender @TheIntelFrog @TallGlenn85 @Andyyyyrrrr @TheAviationist #usaf #kc135 #mildenhall #canon

IT LIVES! TANKER PINGS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE FATAL ACCIDENT #IranWar#OperationEpicFury Back in March 2026, there was a fatal mid-air collision between two US Air Force KC-135R "Stratotanker" aircraft over the Iraq border, resulting in the loss of 60-0347 "ZEUS70". The other airframe involved was this - 63-8017 which had arrived in theatre as "RCH169" - since making the emergency landing at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion (LLBG) with part of the tail missing, it has not been detected flying since. Just now, it started pinging on the ground at LLBG with a new callsign "RCH564", suggesting it may now have been repaired and may be heading back to CONUS shortly! @MATA_osint @vcdgf555

End of an era. ⚓ After 60 years, thousands of traps, and millions of pounds of cargo delivered, the "Rawhides" of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 40 have flown the C-2A Greyhound’s last mission. The Navy's final C-2A Greyhound led a formation flight with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels over Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola's Sherman Field before being turned over to the National Naval Aviation Museum. VRC-40 is being disestablished after more than six decades of carrier onboard delivery (COD) services and logistics support to the fleet, while being the only remaining aviation squadron to fly the C-2A Greyhound aircraft.

The final seconds in the air of over a 61 year history for the C-2 Greyhound. At 11:42 AM CST on July 28, 2026 the C-2 Greyhound concluded its 6 decade long service to the fleet. It was awesome to meet former crew who served on this amazing airframe. Final landing for Buno 162159
