In a sign of how misleading some stats can be, this winter is now Seattle’s snowiest in three years. You’d never know that all the snowfall occurred on one day—and at the buzzer!

@PersoninSeattle The winter weather in Jan 24 & Feb 25 was more impactful IMO. Jan 24 had three days of severe cold, and Feb 25 had snow that stuck to main roads Seattle northward.

@KSeattleWeather Idk that stat seems like it's not misleading at all - all three winters sucked and this was technically the best?

@joelgombiner Last two winters felt way more wintry. Jan 2024 had severe cold, Feb 2025 had multiple days with snowflakes. Also depends where you live—Feb 2025 had back-to-back snow days north of Seattle

@KSeattleWeather I don't find that stat misleading TBH. We got more snow this winter than the last two, which also felt fairly noneventful.

@KSeattleWeather I’d guess about 2”, but I was running around yesterday so didn’t get a chance to measure! I have a huge Doug fir in the yard that caused a major snow shadow, which was neat. Really glad it didn’t ice overnight since I’m still mid-move and shuttling stuff this weekend!

This winter was on track to be our first snowless one in 10 years—and the first without a sub-40° high in a decade-plus. Then, today happened. 3.0” of snow and a high of 35. Incredible for mid-March
