⛵️ REPORT | Global Sumud Flotilla volunteers released testimony describing severe physical abuse, torture, and sexual violence following the interception of their vessel by Israeli forces. The flotilla says at least 12 sexual assaults were documented aboard the vessel alone, including anal rape and forcible penetration with a handgun. Participants said detainees were subjected to humiliating strip searches, sexual taunting, groping, and multiple people were raped. Many others described rubber bullets fired at close range, tasers used on the face and upper body, stun grenades thrown into groups of detainees, prolonged stress positions under permanent bright light, and hijabs forcibly removed. Much of the testimony of Israeli abuse came from what volunteers called the “torture boat,” described as an Israeli naval vessel outfitted with makeshift detention structures built from barbed wire and shipping containers. Detainees say they were taken one by one into dark containers where Israeli commandos beat and abused them. Yassine Benjelloun, who had previously participated in another flotilla mission, described hearing guards say “Welcome to Israel” before he was punched in the head and ribs, kicked to the ground, and left listening to other detainees screaming inside the darkened container. French participant Adrien Berthel said he was specifically targeted after soldiers saw his nail polish and mocked his perceived sexuality. Veronica Otero, who witnessed the processing of nearly all 180 detainees over three days, said volunteers emerged with broken ribs, fractures to the torso, shoulders, and back, adding that some “were not breathing” because of the severity of their injuries. Volunteers also reported being photographed during strip searches while guards laughed. According to the testimony, abuse continued after arrival at Ashdod port, where detainees described further beatings, sexual humiliation, prolonged interrogations, and torture. The organizers said the abuse they experienced over several days reflects what Palestinians in Israeli prisons “experience every single day… for decades,” noting that more than 9,000 Palestinians are currently imprisoned by Israel, including over 3,500 held without charge under administrative detention and more than 400 children. They also cited Save the Children reporting that 69% of detained Palestinian children reported experiencing sexual violence or sexual abuse.

🚨BLANE HILL and MIA SHEPHERDSON 🌍MORRIS GREEN, BOLTON KNOW THEIR FACE 🚨 Couple Banned from Keeping Cats After Tabby Left with Fractured Pelvis. A young couple from Morris Green, Bolton, have been banned from keeping cats for five years after leaving their pet tabby in severe pain with a fractured and dislocated pelvis. Blane Hill, 23, and Mia Shepherdson, 21, of Bolton (BL3), admitted animal welfare offences following an RSPCA investigation into the condition of their cat, Buttons. RSPCA Inspector Jess Pierce attended the address after receiving a report that a “paralysed” tabby cat at the property had not received veterinary care. During her initial visit, Hill and Shepherdson denied owning any cats. On a subsequent visit, they showed the inspector a different cat and continued to deny having a tabby, claiming the reports to the RSPCA were malicious. However, a later visit carried out with a police warrant confirmed that Buttons was inside the home. In evidence presented to the court, Inspector Pierce described finding the male tabby and white cat lying on a cat tree under a blanket. She said he appeared reluctant to move and cried out when picked up. When placed into a carrier, he flopped down and did not attempt to stand. Shepherdson told the inspector that Buttons had bitten Hill before running onto a bed and jumping out of a window. Buttons was seized and transported to the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a dislocated and fractured pelvis, along with bruising around his mouth. Radiographs confirmed injuries consistent with a fall from height. Veterinary staff reported that Buttons was visibly in severe pain on admission. He was crying out, struggling to walk and required immediate pain relief. Examination had to be paused due to the level of discomfort, and multiple medications were needed to manage his pain. He remained under close observation for 23 days and underwent major surgery to insert pins into his hip. A vet told the court that regardless of how the fall occurred, any reasonable owner would have recognised the severity of the injuries and sought immediate veterinary attention. After discharge from hospital, Buttons was placed in foster care with the RSPCA Manchester and Salford Branch, where he continued to receive ongoing treatment and monitoring. However, in mid-March 2025, he developed severe and unmanageable nerve pain. Following veterinary assessment, the decision was made to humanely euthanise him to prevent further suffering. Inspector Pierce described the case as deeply distressing, stating that earlier honesty from the owners could have led to faster intervention. She expressed gratitude to veterinary staff and foster carers who provided Buttons with care and comfort during his final months. During sentencing, the court heard mitigation that the defendants were young and expecting a child. Hill was given a 12-month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work. Shepherdson received a 12-month community order with 10 days of rehabilitation activity, a £120 fine, and associated costs. Both were disqualified from keeping cats for five years. The ban does not extend to other animals, meaning they are permitted to keep a French bulldog puppy. Source Centre Stage for The Voiceless.

Unable to stand and left lying in their own waste inside a transport truck, these cows—referred to by the industry as "downers." Each year, about half a million "downed" animals arrive at U.S. slaughterhouses so sick or injured that they can’t stand. ➡️ bit.ly/MFAHEV

🚨 3 Days left to object! Whyr Farm in Wiltshire wants to build a massive, industrial-scale 'beef' factory-farm. The building covers over 2,000 square metres and will potentially confine hundreds of mother cows and their calves; 200 young cows under a year old, and many more older animals destined for the slaughterhouse and supermarket shelves. This enormous development would damage the local ecosystem, impact the lives and livelihoods of local residents and above all, would confine and exploit thousands of animals. There are just 3 days left to have your say. So let’s stop this development in its tracks, and send a message to the industry: No more new factory farms. Ever. ⏳ Deadline to object: Thursday 22nd May 📢 Check our blog for key points and take action 👉 animaljusticeproject.com/post/critical-…

🚨 RSPCA APPEAL - DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS PERSON? ⚠️ Animal Abuser at Large South Milford, Leeds LS25: emaciated lurcher puppy with non-accidental head injury dies after being abandoned at boarding kennels. Ring doorbell footage appears to show a woman, wearing black, walking through the entrance gates of Woodhaven Kennels, in South Milford, carrying the collapsed lurcher cross pup in her arms at around 7pm on Wednesday, May 6. The emaciated dog was discovered lying on the floor when the kennel’s owner returned to the premises and rushed immediately to a vet after it was initially believed he was dead. Sadly his injuries, which are suspected to be non-accidental, were so serious the vet who examined him said he was suffering and he recommended he be put to sleep. The puppy, who had a black body with brindle-coloured legs, was approximately four months old and still had his baby teeth but no microchip. RSPCA Inspector Joanne Taylor, who is investigating the incident, said: “The vet who examined the puppy, who was nicknamed Hobi, gave him a body condition score of only one out of five. He said he was extremely dehydrated and confirmed he had a head injury and what appeared to be fresh blood coming from one ear. “There were scabs on the nose and soft area over the puppy’ forehead, raised ulcerated lesions in his mouth and the remains of what looked like gravel in his stomach. “Sadly his cognitive awareness deteriorated significantly post admission, which the vet said could indicate a recent or same day injury due to brain bleeding.” She continued: “However, the head injury could also have been an older issue and the puppy may have got progressively worse due to extremely high sodium in his blood. “It’s an extremely sad and upsetting incident and we’re very keen to speak to the individual pictured as we believe she may hold vital information which could support our enquiries.” The RSPCA has been told that after the puppy had been taken to the vet, another woman wearing a pink top arrived at the kennels in a grey-coloured saloon car. She was said to have started asking what had happened to the dog as he belonged to her friend, although she was unable to provide the owner’s details. The RSPCA has appealed to her to come forward as she may also have vital information. Please contact the RSPCA’s inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018, quoting reference number 01795608, if you can help the investigation Source UKACF.

Ernesto’s Sanctuary for Syrian Cats
Ernestos sanctuary is home to 2,800 rescued cats. Every one of them has survived something terrible — war, abandonment, injury, hunger, abuse, or life on the streets. Some were found after road accidents. Some arrived terrified and broken. We promised them safety. Now we need your help to keep that promise. Although all our male cats have already been neutered, we still need to spay over 1,500 female cats. The cost is €15 per cat. Spaying is not cosmetic. It is simply, lifesaving. It prevents painful and deadly infections like pyometra, reduces mammary tumours and cancers, prevents suffering, and helps our girls live longer, healthier, happy lives. A few weeks ago we appealed for help, but sadly very few donations came in. We understand that times are hard for many people. But for these cats, this surgery means protection from pain, illness, and future suffering. Even sponsoring just ONE cat for €15 makes a real difference. €15 protects 1 cat. €30 keeps two cats safe. Please help us continue caring for the forgotten survivors that nobody else wanted. If you can't donate, please share this appeal. Sharing helps more than you know. From all 2,800 rescued souls in our sanctuary — thank you for standing with them. 🐈 Our links for this mission are: ernestosanctuary.org/product/meds-f… justgiving.com/crowdfunding/l… Our bank account is-Banca Sella SPA, Via Italia 2, Biella, 13900, Italia. In February 2026 @Herefordshire Hunt Sabs caught the Herefordshire and Clifton 'trail layer' Ian Jennings and terrier-man James Stephens waste deep in a badger sett during a 'children's meet' in Lower Chadnor, on the Garnastone Estate. Stephens' must have misunderstood the brief, because instead of a trail, he brought a TAIL! - a fox's tail to be precise which he promptly hid in his pocket when rumbled. The terrier was unceremoniously retrieved and thrown, before they both legged it. Stephens sped off on the quad like a bat out of hell, and Jennings presumably wandered off towards the woods looking for his smelly sock, no doubt trying to remember what it was the BHSA said about not doing terrier-work during a hunt. After the Coniston Hunt and Teme Valley Hunt fox dig out late last year, the BHSA specifically told all hunts there'd be repercussions if they do terrier-work (PS It is never legal for terrier-men to interfere with a badger sett anyway) they were also told not be masked during a hunting day - we are all still waiting for the fox hunters at the BHSA to act against the fox hunters who are caught illegally hunting foxes to ground, and as for the terrier-men caught digging... This is why we need the government to get on with this ban, and pronto...have YOUR say here and end this for good 📷 huntsabs.org.uk/ha-campaign/ha…
