I hope any change is properly implemented, that this isn’t pushed into the ‘long grass’ because the longer it takes for there to be positive change, the more women, their partners and babies will suffer from #BirthTrauma

Just some eg - Not my baby, not my problem -If we give everyone pain relief it will bankrupt the nhs -Lady please cover up, we have builders coming in -One patient in labour was bleeding heavily onto the floor, and the response…to clean it up herself #BirthTrauma #Maternity

Although the birth trauma inquiry report was published on Monday, we are still receiving absolutely heartbreaking stories in the inquiry inbox. It's hard to comprehend the amount of callousness and negligent care that people are subjected to.

As one of the 1300 who contributed to the #birthtraumainquiry I have taken some time to digest the report. With my professional hat on an important recommendation is for the time to bring a legal claim to be extended from 3 to 5 years for #birthtrauma 1/4

@helenhammondli1 I’m quite taken aback by this statistic in Hampshire. How can it be that maternity care is not only going backwards but on such a significant level? Clearly #maternitycare in this country needs a complete overhaul.

I am shocked to see "that the number of babies born in 2023 with HIE, or brain damage due to lack of oxygen, was 5 times greater than in 2022". Outcomes should be improving not deteriorating, but this is tragically not the current picture of maternity care.
