Primary 2 have been enjoying the ready steady cook challenge as part of our SHANARRI month of May. We did lots of chopping, mixing and mashing to make shepherds pie and apple crumble. @stdavidsPS_ELC

Primary 2 have been learning about position, angle and symmetry. We designed maxed and directed our friends through them. We tried to make our mazes have one line of symmetry to make them even more challenging. @stdavidsPS_ELC

In numeracy primary 2 have been learning to combine and count equal groups. We have been using classroom objects to make groups based on prompt cards and then counted the total to work out the answers. @stdavidsPS_ELC

Primary 2 have been learning about visualising. We read a short description and drew pictures to show what we were imagining in our heads. We spoke about which details from the text had informed our pictures and the similarities and differences we all had. @stdavidsPS_ELC

Primary 2 have been enjoying finding creative ways to make words. Our sound focus this week is i-e (magic e). We came up with some words together then listened to see what sounds we could hear to write them down. @stdavidsPS_ELC

Primary 2 have been building up our literacy skills. We started by sharing stories trying to find words with today’s sounds. We then recorded all the words with our sound on the board and had a go at making them ourselves. @stdavidsPS_ELC

Primary 2 have been learning about non standard units of measure. We have been measuring objects around the classroom to see how many counters, dice, pegs, hands or feet long they are. @stdavidsPS_ELC

@stdavidsPS_ELC Primary 2 have just started our new topic - the light house keepers lunch. We read the first 10 pages of the story and used our prediction skills to try and work out what will happen next. #lighthousekeeperslunch
