John Collins (24 Oct 1894, Belfast) was a 17-year-old scullion on his first voyage at sea aboard Titanic. Swept into the water while helping a woman and children, he survived on the overturned Collapsible B and later testified at the U.S. Inquiry. He passed in Belfast in 1941.

Music was part of Titanic’s heartbeat. On this World Piano Day, we remember the six pianos aboard Titanic: 3 for First Class, 2 for Second Class, and one for Third Class. Though all were lost in the sinking, the music that once filled those rooms lives on.
