Seeing people discussing CZ-10 style catching system limitation on catching heavier rocket first stage remind me of concept for CZ-9 catching system from sometime ago. Where instead of using constricting string they use more rigid metal beam.
I wonder if this is still the plan.

The XZY-1 Y1 / Qiantang plans to launch & barge recovery at end of 2026 (launch from Haiyang & recovery near Yangtze Delta/SSO mission). The recovered stage will be send back on the barge to their refurbishment factory directly at Hangzhou.

Space Pioneer was patented a method which claimed could land the stage solely rely on the center engine TVC ( without RCSs & gridfins ). The center engine would keep low throttle firing after (maybe also "before" with hot staging) stage sep till re-entry.
